Burton upon Trent: A Tutu-tastic Adventure! (Blog Post #86)

Hello, darlings! Emma here, your resident pink-tutu-loving ballet enthusiast, back with another day in my fabulously frivolous life! Today's adventure has taken me all the way to Burton upon Trent, a quaint little town with a charming old world vibe that totally stole my heart (and definitely warrants a visit if you haven't already!). I may have left Derbyshire for this little trip, but the county spirit always stays with me - particularly when I'm looking for that perfect shade of pink, and I may have snagged a beautiful silk scarf from a little shop down a cobbled side street today - totally adding to my already ridiculously large collection! (Don't worry, dear readers, I have my life very well organized!).

A Ballet Voyage - Train Travels and Tutu Style

But back to my day! Today, I've chosen the most fabulous method of transport - by train, of course! It's not just practical, it's utterly romantic. Watching the scenery whizz by is like watching a whole ballet unfold before my very eyes. And the train journey today has been just delightful. The carriage was relatively empty, meaning I could stretch my legs out, even in my latest tutus-style frock. I had to do my little routine to keep me entertained. You wouldn’t believe how many heads turned – all thanks to my pink fluffy tutu, a true statement piece, topped off with a sparkly butterfly clip that shimmered with every twist and twirl.

My latest acquisition, a perfectly pink knitted cardigan with pearl buttons, added just the right amount of charm to my look, with a little touch of country glamour, of course. It really does help make a ballerina’s life more fabulous. After all, what is a day trip without looking divine?! If you’re planning your own train adventures, a fabulous outfit is a must, darling. It adds the perfect bit of "Emma touch," a touch of fairytale to an ordinary journey.

Burton's Ballet Charm: Inspiration and Delight

Arriving in Burton upon Trent, the atmosphere felt like it had a magical energy; just the right mix of tradition and contemporary. I had this amazing idea to visit the town hall; it’s been in my mind for ages, a classic structure with such impressive architecture – definitely giving off Victorian Ballet vibes! I even popped into a beautiful little dance studio tucked away on a side street. You know me - can't resist checking out a local ballet class, even if I only end up observing (but my feet are always itching to join in!).

Afternoon Tea and a Royal Ballet Feast

For lunch, it had to be afternoon tea. Where else, my darlings, could I enjoy a selection of delightful sandwiches and delicious pastries in a place where I felt like a Victorian princess enjoying a royal tea? With a beautiful cup of pink rose tea and an exquisite chocolate éclair, it truly felt like my very own little tea party in a stunning setting!

But I wouldn’t be Emma if I didn't add a touch of theatrical whimsy to my day. Later, I found myself in the heart of Burton upon Trent – the Brewhouse Arts Centre. You know I love an evening of ballet – and I’m in for a real treat tonight! There’s an amazing theatre performance, featuring one of my favourite companies - it’s got this fantastic combination of classical ballet and contemporary storytelling.

And who knew that Burton upon Trent was home to so many talented ballerinas? I just feel so inspired, darlings.

My Dream: Everyone in Pink Tutus!

So here’s my mission: To inspire every single person on this earth to embrace their inner dancer. Put on your favourite pink tutu – let’s all spread some sparkle and delight into this world, one tutus-filled step at a time.

Even if you're a complete newbie, why not try out a beginner's class? The most wonderful things happen when you step outside of your comfort zone.

Until Tomorrow!

Well, darlings, this post has to end somewhere, though I have so much to tell you about this amazing day! I can’t wait to share my experience in the beautiful Brewhouse tonight – all about those graceful moves, elegant leaps, and passionate performances – I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow. But for now, don't forget to twirl!

Your ballet buddy, always,

Emma
