Twickenham Twirls: Post #110

Hello my gorgeous girlies! It's Emma here, fresh from a fabulous trip to Twickenham! And guess what? I wore my sunshine yellow tutu! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’› It was just the right shade to brighten up the crisp autumn air and matched my mood perfectly โ€“ happy and excited for another adventure!

This journey began as most do โ€“ with a cheeky train ride. I love that rhythmic clatter of wheels on the tracks, and it's always an opportunity to admire the rolling countryside. Plus, a good dose of train travel makes for some fab outfit opportunities! I mean, who doesnโ€™t love a perfectly paired hat and coat ensemble whilst gazing out at the rolling Derbyshire hills, the view always reminding me where I am lucky enough to call home? ๐Ÿ‘’

Reaching Twickenham felt like a step back in time โ€“ a charming little town brimming with history. There were grand old buildings with quirky shops tucked in between, all draped in vibrant autumn foliage. A complete visual feast, and I knew I was going to soak up every single second of it.

My main goal? To see a world-renowned ballet performance at the local theatre, which of course had me excited for days before my journey began. Ballet is always magical, but seeing it performed in a historical theatre is just something else.

But before the grand performance, I indulged in a little afternoon delight โ€“ a spot of tea at a tea room nestled amongst the quaint alleyways. Oh my, it was a picture postcard! Delicate china, the aroma of warm scones, and, of course, a pot of steaming tea that just melted my stress away. It was the perfect pre-show indulgence.

The theatre itself was absolutely breathtaking! The building was older than my great grandmother, full of plush velvet seats, and a stage that seemed to shimmer under the warm stage lights. It was in that very stage the cast were just phenomenal - each dancer so graceful, with perfect technique. Every step was fluid, every gesture spoke volumes, and their emotions were poured into every movement. I felt truly privileged to witness their talent up close. It was a real treat!

And it wasnโ€™t just the dancing that stole my heart โ€“ the costume designs were pure genius. My eyes popped when I saw the sheer elegance and detail that had been poured into each costume. Some were so intricate, I couldn't believe they were hand-sewn! And then there were those gorgeous tutus โ€“ sigh my heart skipped a beat for every pirouette!

Afterwards, I decided to indulge in a little more culture and explore the local museum. Filled with fascinating artefacts, I was captivated by tales of Twickenham's history and was really lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and get a glimpse into the town's rich tapestry. Itโ€™s moments like these that make me truly grateful for our past and how far we have come. It's a reminder to appreciate the stories behind our cities and towns and how lucky we are to be a part of their continued journey.

After all that exploring, I found a cute little cafรฉ for a delightful dinner. They had a little pink corner that was so charming and made for a perfect Insta photo โ€“ the best kind of ballet girl selfie! I ended up chatting to a lovely local, who turned out to be an avid ballerina herself, and it was wonderful hearing about her ballet journeys. I felt like I'd found a kindred spirit and made a new friend in this beautiful town!

Now, it wouldn't be a true Emma blog post without mentioning a few fashion finds! Of course, my bright yellow tutu was the star of the show, but I also managed to score a darling pastel-pink scarf at a vintage boutique. It just whispered โ€œEmma, you need to have me!โ€, and how could I resist a piece so perfect for my little collection? I canโ€™t wait to wear it with my favourite knitted jumper and bright pink lipstick!

As I hopped back on the train to Derbyshire, I couldn't help but think about how perfectly Twickenham had encapsulated that charming English spirit I hold dear. Itโ€™s these charming moments that really make a trip โ€“ the quirky shops, the friendly locals, and, of course, the magical ballet performance! It was all just so veryโ€ฆ tutu fabulous!

I'm so glad I decided to add this charming town to my ballet journey, and I truly hope my adventures inspire you all to discover the joy of exploring our beautiful little country! Remember, life is too short to not twirl and have a little fun. And never forget, a little bit of pink always adds some joy to any occasion.

Stay chic, stay bubbly, and remember to always twirl your way through life! ๐Ÿ’–

Love,

Emma
