TutuBlog Post #122: Bebington Bonanza and My American Tutu Dreams

Hey darlings! It's Emma here, and today I'm brimming with excitement after a fabulous trip to Bebington! I can't tell you how much I love getting out and about, and especially when it's for ballet-related adventures.

This trip was a little different. While usually I'm heading to a theatre or ballet studio, this time it was a charming little shop called "The Tutu Emporium". You can imagine my delight at the prospect! Now, I know you might be thinking, "Emma, another tutu blog post? Surely you have enough?" But trust me, this tutu is a real game-changer!

Imagine, if you will, a tutu so light and airy it feels like a fluffy cloud. It's not the kind of stiff, pointy, theatre-style tutu I normally wear (though I still adore those!). This one was ...dare I say... American! It's shorter, poofier, and absolutely perfect for twirling and skipping along the street! And it's pink. A beautiful, blushing shade of pink.

So, I popped on my new tutu, grabbed a few matching ribbons, and danced my way through Bebington. I must confess, I felt a little like a flamingo in a field of wildflowers! The locals seemed to love it, with a few "Good mornings" and beaming smiles thrown my way.

After my little waltz around the town centre, I decided to head to the Mersey Park for a proper picnic under the autumn sky. Imagine: sunshine, rustling leaves, and a delightful picnic of sandwiches, crisps, and a generous serving of delicious strawberry tarts. (It's okay to indulge once in a while, right?)

While I munched on my picnic, a family of ducks waddled over, curious about this pink vision of joy. One little duckling even attempted a tentative tap on my tutu! So sweet. It truly felt like a magical day!

Now, the truth is, I've been dreaming of an American-style tutu for ages. I love watching old Hollywood films and those elegant actresses in their swirling skirts and high-kicks! But I couldn't find one in my usual haunts in Derbyshire. Then, on one of my many browsing sessions through a vintage fashion magazine, I came across a small ad for The Tutu Emporium. It was serendipitous!

As for my travels, I prefer train journeys, as they give me time to look out the window and dream up my next blog posts. But sometimes, I find myself in a grand, horsedrawn carriage (courtesy of my aunt, who has a charming stable full of rescued horses) for a truly enchanting ride through the Derbyshire countryside.

There’s nothing I love more than watching birds take flight, or a field of daisies swaying gently in the wind. And, I have a real soft spot for bunnies! I even adopted a little rabbit from a local shelter. He's the cutest thing! (Don't worry, he gets lots of love and his own pink bunny blanket, of course!)

Now, I’m not going to lie, my passion for ballet and my unwavering commitment to the tutu sometimes causes me to stand out a bit. But, I like to think that maybe I'm inspiring a few people along the way. After all, the world is a much brighter place with a touch of pink and a little bit of pirouette.

So, dear readers, don't be afraid to try something new, something exciting! Perhaps don’t buy a pink tutu just yet (unless you're reading this in the depths of Bebington, of course!). But maybe try a new dance move, head to a ballet class, or just wear something that makes you feel a little bit extra. Let’s all embrace the joy of a good twirl!

As always, feel free to leave comments below and share your own tutu adventures with me! You can also follow me on social media to see more of my pink-filled escapades! Until tomorrow, dear readers!

Lots of love and twirls,

Emma xoxo
