Crosby Calling! #TutuBlog (Post #132)

Oh, darlings! Today's been a real whirlwind, all pink and twirling! 🩰💕 You know I simply adore exploring new places, and today I found myself on the charming shores of Crosby, in lovely, historic Liverpool. And who knows? Perhaps even more charming than the quaint little seaside town itself? ME, in my absolutely magnificent feather tutu! 💖

The train journey was a delight. Nothing beats chugging through the countryside, with the sun warming my face and the rhythmic clatter of the wheels. I must admit, I spent a good chunk of the journey just admiring my gorgeous tutu in the reflection of the window. Those delicate pink feathers just sparkled like pixie dust in the afternoon light!

Speaking of twinkling, when I arrived in Crosby, my first stop was, naturally, the iconic Antony Gormley sculptures on the beach. I'm sure you've all seen the famous photos. Now, I'm all about making a statement, and honestly, a ballet dancer in a full-blown pink feather tutu amidst those majestic figures? Well, let's just say the paparazzi went wild! We had a right good giggle, posing alongside those statues. Did you know some locals think those statues are quite spooky? I do agree, if I was to walk out onto the beach with the tide coming in at sunset, they'd be a little frightening! However, me? Well, my tutu always lifts my mood!

The sculptures themselves were fascinating. Those strong, bare figures stand so resolutely, their eyes gazing out across the sea. I couldn't help but think about all the stories they’ve seen unfold on that beach over the years. History! I love it!

It’s funny, when I started this pink-tutu revolution back in Derbyshire, I never imagined it’d lead me to so many fascinating places. But that's the thing about wearing a tutu, darling – it opens doors, it gets people talking, it brings a touch of magic to the mundane. It makes you embrace life's simple pleasures, like watching the tide come in, or feeling the gentle sea breeze on your cheeks, or simply relishing the quiet beauty of a peaceful moment. Sometimes it's hard, living that hectic life of a ballet dancer and a blogger. Lots of long hours, training, rehearsals. This was truly the perfect antidote. I was so glad that my train ticket wasn’t booked for a few days. So much to see.

As the day wore on, the tide ebbed and flowed, and with it, so did my own energy levels. You see, darling, you can't possibly wear a magnificent tutu like this without experiencing a few energy surges, can you? 😉 It's like a secret ingredient that just infuses you with this boundless joie de vivre!

And when your tutu feels this fantastic, why stop at sculptures? A trip to Crosby wouldn't be complete without some quality time with nature! Thankfully, just a stone's throw from the sea, the Sefton Park Meadows, bursting with blooming purple wildflowers, offered the perfect place to relax. The light through those blossoms? Honestly, it was almost as lovely as my feather tutu! Of course, my feathered ensemble wasn’t entirely appropriate for the wild meadow – no tutu can really survive being trampled in wildflowers. Fortunately, my little, pocket-sized backpack always comes in handy! It has my Ballet Bunny in it – you know, my lucky ballet shoe for my favourite Ballet Bunny pose? A simple ballerina pose, on tiptoes, with my arms like bunny ears! Always good for a selfie – no need for a professional to catch me in the moment of being perfectly balanced in my pose. I had a great time with that beautiful scenery. I managed to catch a glimpse of a hare with fluffy white ears and then a little robin perched on a dandelion, right there next to a plump bumblebee with big pollen legs – I took a quick picture, obviously. Don’t worry, no close-ups. Never too close with wildlife, darling.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand: the beautiful wildflowers. Now, those are a colour combination you wouldn't expect, but it really worked, don’t you think? That deep, saturated purple against the bright green, well, it just makes you feel so alive! And that, my lovely followers, is precisely what I strive to do with this blog - to bring a little vibrancy into your everyday life, to inspire you to embrace a bit of color, to remind you to always wear a smile (or a pink feather tutu, whichever you fancy!) and to simply... well... TWIRL! 💖✨

Oh, and a little secret. On the train ride back to my lodgings I made a friend – a very nice man in a tweed suit and flat cap. I must confess, darling, he’d never seen anything like a pink feathered tutu before. You know what he said to me? “We are truly in a magical world”. That gave me an idea. Do you remember all those wild meadow flowers, in their deep violet hues? A magnificent color palette for a new design? If you like it, we’ll name the design: “The Crosby Violet”. I know you lovely girls will think it’s simply divine!

Stay tuned, my darlings! Until next time!

Emma

P.S. I simply MUST share my newest secret love. I've just discovered horseback riding – can you imagine, with my love for all things pink and a hint of danger? It's positively divine! More on that in a future blog post, darling. 💕
