Ashton Under Lyne: Tutu Adventures in a Blush-tiful Town! (Post #154)

Hello, my darlings! Emma here, and guess what? This week's Pink Tutu journey takes us to Ashton-under-Lyne, a quaint little town just a short train ride from my beloved Derbyshire. It’s all about tutus and charm today, with a dash of history and a sprinkle of local colour!

Let’s face it, a ballet girl's gotta move. The trusty train was my trusty steed this week, and I tell you, there's something about the gentle sway of the carriage and the anticipation building with every passing station that sets my heart a-flutter. Just like preparing for a big performance, you know? As I cruised towards Ashton, the sunshine danced across the fields and I couldn't help but feel a little twirl coming on! (Don't worry, I was discrete – no twirling mid-carriage!)

Speaking of twirling, today's tutu is a special one. This beauty is a pale blush pink, perfect for the rosy glow of a winter afternoon. The sheer fabric ripples with every pirouette, catching the light like a ballerina's dream. You can imagine my excitement, clutching the bag containing this perfect garment - I just knew it was the right tutu for Ashton.

I always do a bit of research about the places I visit, and let me tell you, Ashton has a surprising history. Did you know it used to be a significant cotton weaving town? It was bustling with industry, and although the mills are mostly silent now, they still stand proudly as reminders of the town's heritage. My love for history goes hand in hand with my love for pink, you see! Every bit of the past tells a story, just as a pretty tutu evokes its own feeling.

But back to my Ashton adventures. Once I settled in, I wandered through the historic cobblestone streets, my blush tutu trailing behind me like a princess in a fairy tale. It's so much fun to get lost in the quaint alleys, exploring old shops and catching the occasional glance of the local people. I saw a little girl practicing her cartwheels in a park, and I swear, I thought for a second she was mimicking a little dancer like me! It's just a sign that a love for dance, and the charm of a tutu, knows no bounds.

Oh, and what’s a trip to Ashton without a trip to the Ashton Canal? It's a beautiful spot, with meandering water and plenty of ducks, swans, and geese enjoying a little stroll along the banks. As a self-confessed animal lover, I found myself giggling at the geese, watching them waddle and chatter with their companions - oh, if only they could try a bit of ballet, imagine the grace! There were even some kids feeding them, and it truly reminded me of the simple pleasures of childhood and of course, a bit of outdoor fun.

I made a pit stop at a local tea room. It’s got this vintage vibe with its beautiful floral wallpaper, little floral china cups, and delectable cakes - oh, my goodness, how could I resist? Imagine a slice of Victoria sponge alongside my blush tutu - it’s pure happiness, really.

A visit to the Ashton Market was an absolute must. Such a colourful tapestry of textures, aromas, and people. The market, full of local farmers' fresh produce, reminded me of the beauty of community and the local charm. And you know me, I couldn't resist snapping some photos, particularly of the beautiful fruit and veggies - they had such lovely hues, practically begging to be placed alongside my lovely tutu!

It wouldn't be a true Emma trip without some ballet magic, and you can imagine how excited I was to discover Ashton has its own theatre. The stage may not be as grand as the Royal Opera House, but the excitement that buzzed in the air as I watched the performers prepare was electrifying! There was such raw talent and passion; it’s truly contagious! Of course, it inspired me to do a quick twirl myself - the blush tutu caught the theatre's spotlights like a cloud of rose-hued stardust, and I just couldn’t help myself!

So, my dear readers, there you have it! A delightful little trip to Ashton-under-Lyne, full of tutus, charm, and pink delight. The world, as you know, is my tutu-clad oyster, and each town has a different story to tell, like a chapter in a ballerina's journal. Don't forget, Ashton is waiting to be discovered, with a touch of pink, a dash of elegance, and a healthy dose of fun!

So, grab your own pink tutu, maybe a delightful afternoon tea, and step outside, ladies! The world needs a little pink tutu magic, don't you think?

Love and pirouettes,

P.S. Don't forget, the key to life is finding what makes your heart flutter and spinning it into your own, personal ballet! So get out there and try something new, I promise you, you’ll love it! And as always, remember, "If you dream it, you can do it!" And remember, twirling is good for the soul! 💖🩰
