Carshalton Calling: Tutu Tales and Train Travels!
Hello, darlings! Emma here, and oh, my goodness, what a whirlwind week it's been! I've been flitting around like a butterfly in a tutu, which, as you know, is my usual state of being! But this week's adventures have been especially exciting...and pink!
Speaking of pink, let's start with my latest tutu obsession: a delicate cloud of pale blush tulle, it practically glows in the afternoon sun. I had to have it! I even dreamt about twirling in it. So imagine my joy when I finally found it tucked away in a little boutique on a side street in the beautiful Cotswolds, nestled between antique shops and quaint cafes.
Anyway, enough about tutus for now (though, really, could you ever have too much tutu talk?).
Last weekend, I packed my pink suitcase (of course!) and set off for Carshalton. I've been dreaming of visiting this little corner of Surrey for ages, and you know me, I don't often dream about things β I dream about experiences, places, adventures!
Itβs the little details, the history, the unique charm that attracts me to a place. And Carshalton delivered on all accounts!
My journey, naturally, began with a train ride β there's something so magical about a good train journey. I'm a complete railway romantic, you know. Maybe it's the gentle rocking, the feeling of leaving behind everyday life, the possibility of adventures just around the bend. I feel so free on the train, especially when wearing a perfectly pink ensemble β it really adds to the enchantment!
This time, my journey involved a bit of horse riding, too! That's right, my lovelies, I was lucky enough to get a glimpse of the stunning Surrey countryside from atop a majestic horse! It was a pure fairytale moment, with the wind blowing through my hair, and my new pink-and-white-striped ribbon flowing behind me (naturally!).
Carshalton, with its lovely parkland and its fascinating history, was absolutely enchanting. Itβs a true haven for wildlife too - I spotted a playful squirrel scampering amongst the ancient trees, a family of ducks paddling on the lake, and even a magnificent heron stalking by the water's edge. All those animals, with their perfect grace, reminded me so much of ballet, donβt you think? It made me think of those moments of utter, serene beauty during a performance, when time seems to stop and every movement, every gesture, speaks of grace and wonder.
Speaking of ballet, I was so thrilled to finally experience the Carshalton Dance Studio! This charming little gem offered a wonderful ballet class in the evening, filled with aspiring dancers from all walks of life. It was heartwarming to see such passion and dedication in these ladies. There's something so powerful and beautiful about a shared love for dance, and being surrounded by other dancers, in a tutu of course, is truly uplifting. I even discovered a lovely shop specializing in dance wear just a few steps away β what luck!
After my ballet class, I wandered through Carshalton's quaint high street, enjoying a spot of tea and delicious cakes at a little tea room β their pink rose macaroons were simply divine! Then I had a truly unique adventure - I took a romantic stroll through the Carshalton Pond Nature Reserve. You could practically smell the ancient history, it's such a special spot. I almost expected to spot a fairy flitting among the ferns!
All in all, my time in Carshalton was simply magical! It was one of those days that fills you with a sense of joy and wonder, the kind that leaves you wanting to twirl and twirl, to sing and dance!
Before I go, darling, remember to visit my blog β www.pink-tutu.com β to keep up with my daily musings, my ballet adventures, my train travels, and all things pink!
Stay beautiful and be brave, darlings! Remember, life is a stage and the world is your audience. Wear your pink tutus with pride, embrace your inner ballerina, and go out there and twirl your hearts out!
Until next time,
Emma
