Kendal Calling: A Pink Tutu Adventure (Post #228)
Hey lovelies!
It's Emma here, reporting live from the stunning town of Kendal in the Lake District, and you wouldn't believe what I'm sporting... a black tutu! Now, I know what you're thinking โ Emma, a black tutu?! But hear me out.
I've been on a bit of a pink bender lately, but sometimes a girl needs a change, right? And I gotta say, this black tulle is looking mighty fine against the backdrop of the Cumbrian countryside.
The journey up here was, as always, an adventure. I opted for the train, a cosy carriage nestled amongst the green rolling hills, where I indulged in a delicious scone with jam and clotted cream. A proper English treat! I had a little chat with a lovely old gentleman on the way who was convinced I was going to a fancy dress party โ clearly, I'm not as stealthy as I think I am!
Speaking of adventures, my little escapade to Kendal wouldn't be complete without a trip to see some local wildlife. Now, I'm not talking about the local humans (though they're lovely too!). I'm talking about the fluffy sheep that graze peacefully on the green hills, their woolly coats a contrast to the piercing blue skies. It's utterly calming watching them munch on the grass, totally oblivious to the tourists who are snapping away like crazy. I even spotted a baby lamb! I swear, these adorable little creatures are what make life worth living.
My reason for visiting Kendal is a little secret โ I can't give too much away, but let's just say it involves a fabulous dance performance. More details on that later! But in the meantime, I can tell you this much: it's going to involve pink โ my all-time favourite colour โ and a tutu. You've got to be on the lookout for the "Pink Tutu Surprise" on www.pink-tutu.com!
I can't resist mentioning this amazing little cafรฉ I found nestled amongst the quaint shops in Kendal. The moment I walked in, I felt like I'd been transported back to a vintage Parisian tea room. Lace tablecloths, delicate china teacups, and an atmosphere that screamed "sophisticated but fun". They served the most divine raspberry tart with whipped cream โ truly a taste of heaven.
My adventure isn't over yet, darling! I still have the rest of Kendal to explore, with its charming streets, cosy pubs, and stunning lakes. I'm even considering a jaunt on a horse-drawn carriage to really embrace the old-world charm of the Lake District. You know me, always up for a new experience!
So, keep an eye on the blog โ I'll be back with more updates about my adventure, including sneak peeks into my exciting performance. Until then, go out there and embrace the sunshine (if you're lucky enough to have any!), wear pink (because life's too short for dull colours!), and maybe even try out some ballet moves! After all, as my darling Grandma always says, "Life's too short for a stationary tutu!"
Lots of love,
Emma xxx
P.S. Have you seen my new tutu tutorial video on the website? It teaches you how to make your own ballerina bun in a matter of minutes! What are you waiting for? Go ahead, give it a go!
P.P.S I'm also hosting a #PinkTutuChallenge! Just post a picture of you wearing pink (or even a black tutu if you're feeling adventurous!) and use the hashtag #PinkTutuChallenge. I'll be choosing my favourite posts and sharing them on the blog!
Let's get the world twirling!
