Hello my darlings! It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, writing to you from the charming town of Royal Leamington Spa! This beautiful, historic gem in Warwickshire has been calling to me for ages, and finally, I’ve succumbed to its allure! And as always, a grand adventure demands a grand outfit. Today’s star of the show? A sumptuous, billowing tulle masterpiece, a symphony of swirling pink, purchased from none other than the exquisite Miss Penelope's Boutique in London. Oh, how it swishes! How it twirls!
You know how I adore the Victorian aesthetic, right? Leamington Spa feels like stepping right out of a Jane Austen novel! Imagine my delight when I discovered it was founded as a spa town thanks to its supposedly magical mineral springs! Just picture me sipping tea on a floral terrace overlooking a quaint park, resplendent in this heavenly pink creation, the scent of roses filling the air, as the calming music of a nearby busker provides the perfect backdrop to my daydreams! Sigh Pure enchantment.
Oh, and let’s talk about this train journey, my lovelies! It was truly magical! My journey took me past the picturesque countryside of Derbyshire, which feels almost like stepping back in time. Fields of golden wheat, quaint villages with charming thatched cottages, and rolling hills – the perfect scenery to fuel my imagination and allow my thoughts to wander as I contemplate the next step in my dance journey. It’s hard to believe that I used to find travelling by train tedious – nowadays, it’s my favourite way to travel, as it offers a truly personal and peaceful experience. I just wish they served more pink cake on board!
Speaking of pink… drumroll please… I’m currently in the middle of planning my ultimate pink tutu extravaganza! Yes, you heard that right, a celebration of all things pink, tutus, and, of course, ballet! This event will feature everything a girly girl could possibly dream of: a breathtaking display of couture tutus (yes, my pink collection is growing!), a showcase of some of my favourite ballet pieces performed by talented young dancers (we’re talking a mixture of classic and modern styles – something for everyone!), and an array of pink-themed refreshments, including my very own Pink Passion cupcake recipe! Think pink-frosted cakes with raspberry filling and a generous drizzle of pink glaze – it’s gonna be divine!
Speaking of celebrations, I just had to make a pilgrimage to The Royal Spa Centre, a Victorian theatre and events hall. The stunning architecture, with its intricate detailing and beautiful, colourful stained glass windows, transported me right back in time. As I twirled through its elegant halls, imagining the countless actors and performers who graced its stage before me, I felt like I had entered a time capsule. It is a place that has truly seen it all – from elegant balls to theatrical productions – and has a fascinating story to tell. It’s definitely worth a visit!
Oh, and if you're wondering what a day in Leamington Spa feels like, imagine a kaleidoscope of charm, history, and vibrant energy, wrapped up in a perfect ribbon of pink! This is the essence of this town. And as you all know, I’m completely smitten with it. The energy here is vibrant, there’s an abundance of charming cafes and boutique shops bursting with beautiful treasures, and, of course, the incredible historical heritage that permeates the streets.
I’m thinking this town might become my new creative hub – imagine! My very own haven of artistic inspiration, where I can soak up all the beauty and energy, channeling it into my dancing and my blog. This trip is proving to be just what my soul needed: a refreshing change of scenery, a delightful dose of Victorian grandeur, and endless opportunities to soak in all the artistic wonder this town has to offer! Plus, there’s nothing quite like twirling in a glorious pink tutu in such a magnificent setting!
