Leith Calling: A Pink Tutu Adventure (Post #399)

Hello darlings! Emma here, reporting live from the beautiful city of Leith, Edinburgh! I’m currently sipping on a lovely cuppa while looking out the window of my little B&B, and it's simply breathtaking. The cobblestone streets are bathed in sunshine, and the air is filled with the scent of blooming flowers – just pure magic!

This adventure started a few days ago, as I set off from my little Derbyshire village. This time, I decided to go the old-fashioned way - by train! Imagine, chugging along in a vintage carriage, the rhythm of the tracks and the passing countryside scenery creating the perfect ballet backdrop. It’s pure escapism! The only thing that would've made it better would be a fluffy pink tutu twirling in the breeze. Sigh, maybe next time.

Edinburgh itself is enchanting, a true kaleidoscope of history, culture, and quirky charm. The Edinburgh Festival is in full swing, and the streets are abuzz with excited performers and theatregoers.

A Black Tutu Tale

Today's adventure took me to Leith, a harbourside district brimming with artistic vibes. It felt so different to the bustling city centre. I found the perfect spot for my Pink Tutu photoshoot - a hidden cobbled courtyard brimming with flowers, and just a touch of Victorian grandeur. Of course, I had to bring along my trusty black tutu! It’s my favourite travel companion – stylish, versatile, and oh-so-comfy!

My black tutu danced with the wind as I twirled in the sunlight. Imagine my delight when a local family with two little girls (and one adorable black lab) happened upon me! The girls were mesmerised by the twirling, their eyes widening as if they were watching a ballerina take flight! And who could resist the allure of a fluffy tutu? In the blink of an eye, one of the girls, her eyes sparkling with wonder, asked: “Can I try on your tutu?!”

Of course! With a heart full of joy, I let her twirl in my black tutu – a true moment of pure magic!

From Cobblestones to Coast

After the impromptu ballet lesson, I strolled along the waterfront. The salty air was a welcome change, and I couldn't resist getting a few snaps with the iconic Leith docks as my backdrop. There was an unexpected wildlife encounter too! A flock of seagulls gracefully soared overhead – a beautiful sight against the vast blue sky. And of course, my tutu matched their grace!

As the day fades, the city takes on an ethereal glow. The pink sky mirroring my pink Tutu philosophy – everything is more beautiful with a touch of pink! Tonight's dinner is a traditional Scottish feast in one of the local pubs, and then a visit to see the renowned Scottish Ballet perform. Oh, how I dream of joining their company someday! Perhaps I'll even be inspired to create a ballet routine of my own, set against the stunning Edinburgh scenery!

A Tutu-ful Inspiration

Leith, you have stolen my heart with your charming streets, hidden courtyards, and heartwarming moments. Thank you for reminding me that joy and wonder are found in the simplest things, especially a tutu and a twinkle in someone’s eye.

Remember, darlings, the world is a stage, and everyone has the potential to twirl like a ballerina! Don’t be afraid to embrace the pink, to step out of your comfort zone, and to make life a vibrant and magical dance.

Until next time, may your days be filled with tutu-ful adventures!

Yours in Pink, Emma
