Whitley Bay Whirlwind: Post #449

Hello darlings!

Emma here, back with another fabulous update from your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger. This week has been all about the seaside and a trip to Whitley Bay – think windswept hair, salty air, and oh, the joy of a red tutu against a bright blue sky!

It's funny how life just sweeps you up sometimes, don't you think? One minute I'm practicing 'Giselle' in my little studio in Derbyshire, the next I'm puffing away on a train carriage, the world rushing past in a blur of greenery, all with a pink tote bag nestled on my lap and a whimsical vision of dancing under the stars in Whitley Bay already blossoming in my head.

And that's exactly what I did! As the sun started to set and the icy, fresh air swirled around me, I found myself standing on the beach with the tide lapping at my toes and my heart doing a little pirouette of its own. You know I just love a good sea breeze and that feeling of freedom it brings.

It's a bit of a secret but I do think there is something incredibly magical about being a ballerina by the seaside. Imagine: the crashing of the waves is your musical rhythm, the soft sand is your stage and the wind whispers your enchanting story.

Of course, a red tutu had to be a part of the spectacle. The colour popped so vibrantly against the blues and oranges of the sunset – I can still feel that glorious mix of sand and silk. But, to make the day complete ( because even the most adventurous ballerina can’t dance without a little comfort), I decided on my usual pink accessories. A feather boa in the palest shade, a fluffy headband with a dainty flower nestled at the back – a touch of glamour to balance the playful spirit of my little red ballerina's get-up.

After the sun went down I found a quaint little pub nestled along the coast. You know how I am – I just can't resist a pub with a crackling fireplace, a warm glow and a charming story to tell. As the warm light washed over me I couldn't help but think of my grandmother – she was such a romantic with a true love for all things charming. I'm pretty sure she would have loved Whitley Bay as much as I do.

The pub offered up a delicious dinner – I indulged in a traditional fish and chips (can you ever truly resist?) – and a pint of cider, which made for a most wonderful ending to the day. I can't think of a better way to wind down after a long day of exploring the seaside than with a bit of comfort food and a generous glass of something delicious.

You see, for me, dancing is not just a passion, it's a way of life. It’s about embracing all the magical little moments life throws your way and seeing the beauty in everything, even the smallest details. And what's more magical than a seaside sunset with a red tutu, a feather boa and a glass of cider? I'm not saying, but I know it’s the stuff fairy tales are made of!

Until tomorrow my lovelies, remember to keep smiling and dancing, especially in your pink tutu!

Lots of love,

Emma
