Salford Calling!
Pink-tutu.com post #567
Hello my darling dance devotees! Emma here, reporting live from the chicest city in the North, Salford!
It's a bit nippy this morning, but I'm feeling wonderfully warm inside. That's because, as you lovely lot know, there's no better way to chase away the winter blues than by dancing in a fabulous, frothy tutu! And this one, my darlings, is extra special. Think: pink silk, layers of delicate tulle, and a delicate sprinkling of shimmering sequins. It's simply divine!
My trip started yesterday, and I confess I did travel in style. Yes, I opted for a delightful journey by train, the windows all fogged up and the carriage smelling of old books and buttery croissants (the good kind, from the little bakery near the station). I felt like I was in a glamorous film, and that feeling only intensified when I arrived in Salford!
Speaking of glamorous, you'll never guess what I did first?! After checking into my gorgeous little boutique hotel with the chandelier that shimmered like a thousand stars (seriously, the details!), I took a charming horse-drawn carriage ride through the streets. Think cobbled lanes lined with stunning architecture, and those iconic Salford rooftops twinkling in the afternoon sun. I couldn't stop giggling - it was like a fairytale come to life!
Now, my Salford adventures have just begun. Later today, I'm heading to see a breathtaking performance by the Salford Ballet Company at the stunning Lowry Theatre. Can't wait to experience their artistry up close! Of course, I'll be in full "pink tutu" mode for the occasion - how else would a ballet devotee like myself take in a show like that?
And my week is just bursting with dance! I'm thrilled to have arranged a masterclass with the legendary ballet instructor, Madame Dubois. Oh, how I adore her! You see, she's been teaching ballet for ages (ages! Think elegant tutus and vintage charm) and she knows exactly how to turn a novice into a starlet, or, at least, someone who can actually pliรฉ properly! (Spoiler alert: I am NOT a novice but a budding ballet buff with a sprinkle of dance class experience.) I plan to record the entire class for my fabulous Pink-tutu.com viewers. And don't forget my ballet shoe picks of the season - available now on the website - just in time to jazz up your dancing shoes!
As much as I adore a fancy frock and a fabulous performance, my journey wouldn't be complete without a little wildlife spotting. Did you know that Salford has a fascinating secret? Tucked away, amidst the busy streets and iconic buildings, are beautiful green spaces teeming with wildlife! I'm on the lookout for those fluffy swans who are known for their elegant swoops in the park, and maybe even some graceful herons at the river. (Maybe, if I'm really lucky, even a fluffy duck or two! Or a curious squirrel in my bag - hey, I'm ready to meet the local wildlife!)
Salford, you have charmed me from the moment I arrived. You've got that urban chic mixed with a touch of traditional grace. Honestly, it's like my own little dream world come to life. Youโve reminded me that beauty is everywhere you look, and a twirl is always the right choice! And for anyone who needs convincing, take it from me: Pink tutus are the way forward! (Unless of course, you have your own favorite colour! But seriously, pink makes the world a happier place!)
Iโll leave you with one little challenge for this week: Pick a song, put on your fanciest tutu, (you can use any colour, even pink! haha!) and dance it out! It'll give you a pep in your step and make your heart sing. It's all about having fun! Remember, the dance floor is your canvas, and you, my dearest, are the artist!
Stay fabulous, darlings!
Until next time,
Your Dancing Emma
