Rochester Calling! #TutuBlog 623

Oh darling, hold onto your tutus! This little Derbyshire lass is back with another adventure, and this time itā€™s all about Rochester, the beautiful and historic city of Kent. Iā€™m already buzzing, the air is thick with the promise of a lovely day exploring and, of course, dancing.

You all know that Iā€™m mad about trains. Well, picture this: a crisp, clear morning, the sun peeping through the window of the carriage as I whizzed past rolling green countryside. All that was missing was a glass of something sparkly to make it perfect!

This time, my travels aren't just about catching a show ā€“ I'm on a mission. You see, Rochesterā€™s got something special for all of us ballet bunnies, and I simply cannot wait to share it.

First up, weā€™re diving into the Rochester Ballet Centre. I hear itā€™s a haven for dancers of all ages and abilities. Can you imagine, twirling amidst those beautiful oak beams with a symphony of giggles filling the air? It's all I can do to not throw myself into the next barre class right now!

But darling, let's not forget the heart of Rochester! Iā€™ve been itching to get a closer look at Rochester Castle. Think stone walls, hidden courtyards, and panoramic views across the Medway. It's a photographer's dream, and I'm bringing my favourite pink tutu (you can never have too many!). Imagine me posing against those ancient stones ā€“ just picture the photos!

And of course, a trip to Rochester isn't complete without indulging in its charming boutiques and tea rooms. Think delicious cake and endless cups of Earl Grey. You can practically smell the warm scones from here!

Speaking of indulging, my lovely, let me tell you all about the surprise I found in Rochester - the ā€˜Ditsy Flamingoā€™ store! Itā€™s an absolute treasure trove of pink delights, from flamingo-shaped jewellery to quirky clothes with an undeniably chic and colourful edge. Itā€™s practically begging for me to buy everything and wear it all at once ā€“ though I doubt I'd have room in my luggage!

And because every good adventure needs a pinch of adventure, weā€™re hopping aboard the Rochester Riverboat. Picture it: gently swaying on the Medway, sun shining on our faces, and the charming waterfront whizzing past. Perfect for watching the world go by and reflecting on the beautiful city of Rochester, its history, and the promise of a glorious evening at the ballet!

Oh, but darling, letā€™s talk about the ballet. This evening Iā€™ll be seeing the ā€œGiselleā€ at The Rochester Corn Exchange ā€“ how absolutely magical, I simply canā€™t wait to share the experience with all of you tomorrow! You can imagine the beautiful costumes, the powerful movements, the passion of the performance ā€“ it's all enough to make me swoon. And then there are those dreamy tutu's, of course!

I must say, it seems Rochester is more than just a charming town; itā€™s an absolute haven for a tutu-wearing dancer like myself. Iā€™ve already felt a buzz of excitement just exploring the town, meeting its people, and breathing in the historical charm that hangs in the air.

But now darling, Iā€™ve got to dash! Itā€™s time for me to catch the perfect picture in my pink tutu against the imposing backdrop of Rochester Castle. Who knows, maybe it will inspire my next tutu design! After all, the best inspirations come from unexpected places!

Donā€™t forget to join me on this exciting journey to Rochester ā€“ it's going to be a truly unforgettable adventure!

Much love, Emma
