Taunton Tutus & Trains! π©°π (Post #630)
Hello my lovelies! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Taunton! πͺοΈ This weekend was a whirlwind of tutus, trains, and, of course, a dash of pink.
You know how I feel about the colour pink. π I can't get enough of it. Pink tutus, pink teacups, pink handbags β just everything pink, please! So when I found out that Taunton was hosting the "Pink and Purple Passion" ballet festival, I knew I had to be there! This wasn't just a chance to see incredible performances, it was a chance to fully embrace my inner ballerina β and maybe even find a new pink tutu, or two!
Oh, did I mention I'm a total train fanatic? ππ¨ There's just something magical about chugging through the countryside, watching the world go by, lost in my own daydreams about twirling onstage. I spent the whole journey sketching ideas for a new ballet routine β the kind you'd expect to see at a fabulous, glitzy show in Covent Garden. π€« Maybe I'll even feature a railway theme, just to add a touch of my unique flair!
Now, let me tell you all about the festival. First, it wasn't just ballet. They had street performances, some fab modern dance pieces, and even a tiny, adorable theatre performance with some rather comical, yet very talented, children! π
But the real highlight? π The International Tutu competition! It was like a glamorous runway show, but instead of clothes, it was tutus, all the colours you can imagine β and, of course, the pink ones stole the show! β¨ Seeing these dancers grace the stage in such exquisite tutus inspired me to dream up my next custom creation. I'm already scheming about lace, sequins, and some strategically placed pink feather boa β imagine the elegance! π
Speaking of elegance, have I mentioned I love a good cuppa and a slice of Victoria sponge cake? π You know me β always ready for a little treat. This time, it was a vintage tearoom just off the main square in Taunton. Imagine afternoon tea, but surrounded by giggling girls in tutus β sheer perfection! I felt like I was transported to a pastel dreamland, surrounded by like-minded souls who appreciated the magic of a well-chosen outfit, a cup of tea, and a piece of cake β all while dreaming about dancing, of course! π°βπ©°
But the best part about my trip? (Other than all the amazing ballet performances and pink tutus, that is.) It's something I learned about the festival β it's a charity event. It was all in support of the local wildlife sanctuary, the kind of thing that tugs at my heartstrings. Animals need love too, right? β€οΈ And what better way to help than through dance?
This is what I love about the ballet world. It's more than just graceful movements and beautiful music β it's a community, a passionate gathering of people who embrace the power of art. And what's more powerful than art? Well, maybe the power of pink tutus β I think it might be the strongest force in the world.
Just imagine β everyone wearing a pink tutu! It would be an explosion of pure joy! π Wouldn't that be fantastic? Let's work on that. Let's spread the word. Let's make the world a brighter, pinker place. It starts with you, my lovelies β start practicing your pliΓ©s! And of course, don't forget to share your own pink tutu stories in the comments!
Until next time, Emma xx
