Morden Makes Me Move - Post 662

Oh, darling! You won’t believe the adventures this little pink-tutu-clad ballerina has been having! It’s been quite the week, from a train trip to a fab ballet class – all in the name of getting you to twirl in your own fabulous pink tutu. Buckle up, my darlings, this is one for the diary!

A Train To Morden

First things first, a trip to London, but not your usual tube-hopping escapades, no no! We travelled in style, me and my best pal Millie, with the wind in our hair (and possibly a cheeky Aperol Spritz or two) on the train to Morden! It’s such a delightful, quaint little corner of London, all pretty cottages and village green vibes, you wouldn’t believe it’s in the heart of the Big Smoke!

Morden itself has this delightful history as the first planned suburb, you know, back in the Victorian days when everyone wore beautiful bonnets and those glorious crinoline dresses - just imagine a little ballerina skipping around in all that fabric! My inner Victorian was delighted - we just couldn’t resist taking a few pics in front of those cute old-school terraced houses. And of course, what better way to commemorate the day than with a photo of me twirling on the station platform? My new blush-coloured tulle tutu looked divine against that faded, pale pink brick!

Morden Makes me Move

So why Morden you ask? Because it's where a ballet school I've been longing to visit lives – Danceworx! This school is all about fun, expressive dance, which just spoke to me as a tutu-clad ballet enthusiast, I tell you! The class was vibrant, joyous, and oh so pink-tastic – the colours were right up my street.

From delicate adagio stretches to sassy ballet-inspired jazz movements, we really pushed our bodies, but it was all done with such warmth and encouragement - even when the pliés were intense, I just kept giggling. You know me - it's not just the physical beauty of ballet that gets me going, it’s the camaraderie and joy that bubbles up during each movement, each leap. It’s infectious. This was dance class as it should be. After class, I even spotted a delightful pink tutu tucked into the school’s window display. A sign? Perhaps, but let’s just say I almost dashed back to my train and bought that little beauty before heading to my next stop.

The Majesty of the Royal Opera House

Of course, a trip to London wasn’t complete without seeing a performance at the glorious Royal Opera House! We caught The Sleeping Beauty and, oh my goodness, it was just simply exquisite! From the intricate costumes to the soaring music, I was swept away by the whole affair.

Every element – the precise footwork, the captivating storytelling, the way each graceful movement brought out emotion – was breathtaking. I can’t even tell you how many times I wished I could just vanish and appear in that world! It was like watching a magical dreamscape. My heart felt like it was bursting from my chest - I just wanted to run onto that stage, to spin and twirl with the beautiful dancers, to lose myself in their passion, and to bring the audience joy! I tell you what - the way they glided through those tutus, it just inspires you to go and chase your own dream, to leap into life’s adventures.

Back to Derbyshire, But Always Dancing

My adventures may have taken me to the heart of London this week, but my feet will forever be rooted in the hills of Derbyshire. This weekend I’m back home in the Peak District, surrounded by wild horses, breathtaking views and the rolling, emerald-green fields.

It's quite a contrast, going from the urban glamour of London to the natural beauty of Derbyshire, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s magic to be found everywhere. Every step, every pirouette, is just a step towards achieving my life’s dream - to bring the joy of ballet, to bring a little bit of pink to every corner of the world!

Until Next Time, Twirl on!

It's the weekend, darlings, and you know what that means – get out those tutus and let’s dance! Maybe head to a dance class like Danceworx, or simply dance in your living room. I guarantee it will lift your mood! Stay tuned, because next week I’m on a quest to find the perfect pink picnic blanket. Until then, twirl with happiness!

And remember, my darlings, I’ll be waiting for you over at www.pink-tutu.com for another delightful blog post! Don’t forget to share your own pink-tutu adventures with me using the hashtag #PinkTutuWorld - it would make my heart sing!

Yours in twirls and pink,

Emma
