Bletchley Bound! 🩰💖

Post number 699

Hello darlings! Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, writing to you live from my favourite spot - the train! I’m hurtling towards Bletchley, my pink tutu practically vibrating with excitement, for a day filled with all things ballet.

It's funny how life can take you on the most whimsical journeys, isn’t it? Just a few years ago, I was a young Derbyshire girl with a wild imagination, twirling around my living room in my makeshift tutus (remember the curtain-drape disaster of 2016?!), dreaming of dancing in the most fabulous places. And guess what? Dreams do come true!

Today, I’m making my way to Bletchley for a magical day at the prestigious National Ballet School. I’ve been dying to see the beautiful facilities, meet some of the talented young dancers, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of a performance - if I’m lucky! I've got my ballet bag packed to the brim with everything a proper ballerina needs, and yes, my signature pink tutu of course!

The journey to Bletchley is part of the adventure. I’ve swapped my car for the romanticism of train travel, especially on a beautiful sunny day like this. Watching the countryside roll by, accompanied by the gentle clattering of the wheels, makes for such a wonderful ballet of movement and light! It’s almost enough to inspire a whole new dance routine, but I'll save that for my studio time. 😉

The scenery from my window reminds me of one of my favourite places, a wildflower meadow nestled just outside the Derbyshire village where I grew up. It’s a haven for butterflies, bumblebees, and other tiny creatures that dance and flutter with an almost magical grace. It always brings to mind the “Sugar Plum Fairy” from “The Nutcracker,” such delicate and captivating beauty, it reminds me to slow down and appreciate life's little delights.

I think you can see the connection to my passion for ballet, the way it all flows together so effortlessly. It's not just about the physicality and the technical skills, it's about expressing your inner self through movement, and bringing joy to those who watch and listen and connect with your passion.

I also love the way that ballet crosses boundaries. It can transport you to another world, another time, telling stories that resonate deep within us all. Whether it’s the drama of a Romeo and Juliet, the powerful message of a Swan Lake, or the joyful innocence of Coppelia, ballet has a special power to move and inspire us.

Of course, the heart of my journey today is all about that amazing art form and my passion for bringing more ballet into the lives of everyone! I have this dream of seeing the world dancing, of having a ballet studio on every corner, of seeing children in brightly coloured tutus leaping with joy, and of course, of seeing everyone embracing their inner ballerina and spreading the joy of dance!

So here's my call to action! Let’s get more people involved in the beauty and grace of ballet. Try a ballet class! Wear a pink tutu, be bold! Embrace the movement and let it bring you happiness, joy, and strength.

I'm off to Bletchley, to immerse myself in all things ballet, to be inspired, to learn, and to be reminded why I love ballet so much. And when I get back, I’ll be sharing my Bletchley adventures with you all! Stay tuned!

Love, Emma 💕🩰
