Bexleyheath: A Tutu-tastic Day Out! (Blog Post #729)

Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, your resident tutu-obsessed traveller, back with another fabulously frivolous post. Today, I ventured to Bexleyheath, a delightful little town nestled just outside of London. It’s got such a quaint, historic charm to it – perfect for a girly afternoon exploring.

Now, I know you're thinking, "Emma, how on earth did you get to Bexleyheath?" Well, my lovelies, you wouldn't believe it! I took the train, naturally, all gussied up in my trusty, yet ever so slightly narrow, pink tutu! It always seems to manage to squeeze into the tightest of places – who needs a travel pillow when you've got the comfy, pillowy tulle of your favourite tutu?

I must say, my fellow train travellers looked utterly enthralled! They were positively agog at my daring style. Several of them even complimented my colour choices, and I couldn’t resist offering them some tutu tips! We had a lovely chat about the benefits of twirling in public and the merits of always opting for a slightly too-tight fit - makes the dance more exciting, don't you think?

Once I arrived in Bexleyheath, I decided to make the most of the day's beautiful sunshine and embark on a walk. Now, the thing about Bexleyheath is that it boasts a breathtaking amount of green spaces. Picturesque parks, luscious gardens – oh my! And you can bet your bottom dollar that I had to spin and twirl my way through them all!

But let's be real, I can’t just flit around in a pink tutu, my dears, there has to be some sightseeing in order! I visited the charming Christ Church, built back in the 14th century, and the imposing Bexleyheath Town Hall, with its intricate Victorian architecture. Now, these might not be the most traditionally "tutu-friendly" venues, but I managed to strike some perfectly Instagrammable poses anyway. Trust me, my darling, when it comes to the tutu, there's nothing quite as lovely as a little juxtaposition.

Mid-afternoon, my hunger for all things sweet started to rumble. Now, Bexleyheath is a little haven for cake lovers. I discovered the most delectable bakery tucked away in a quiet corner. Oh, the aromas! There were cupcakes adorned with delicate floral icing, delectable tarts bursting with flavour, and even a cheeky pink-frosted cake for this ballerina. I treated myself to a generous slice of strawberry cake and indulged in the sweetness of the day.

After my cake-filled interlude, it was time for my grand finale - a ballet show in the heart of Bexleyheath. And believe me, darlings, the performance was absolutely incredible! It was an ode to the wild, with captivatingly strong, wild animal choreography, powerful performances, and stunning costumes. It was truly inspiring! I even spotted a pair of ballet shoes in the audience – now if that's not a sign that my mission is spreading, then I don't know what is!

All in all, my day in Bexleyheath was just the pick-me-up I needed. It's a little reminder that adventure is waiting for us, in even the most unexpected of places. So next time you're planning a day trip, take a cue from yours truly – don your favourite pink tutu, embrace the joy of movement, and spread the tutu-licious love!

Now, off to the world of ballet – gotta brush up on those plies! Remember to follow me on Instagram, @PinkTutuEmma for more adventures in style! See you soon, loves!
