Oxford Calling: Tutu & Tea Time! 💖🩰

Hello my gorgeous tutu-loving friends! It's Emma here, back with a new post from the dreamy city of Oxford. Buckle up for a whirlwind tour of a food-themed tutu, ballet bliss, and a pinch of English countryside charm.

This week, I've been whisked away by the enchanting power of the railway. Who needs planes when you can watch the rolling hills glide by and listen to the rhythm of the tracks? I think there's something so romantic about train travel, especially when it takes you to a city brimming with history and beauty.

The minute I stepped into Oxford, I felt the city's ancient energy buzzing around me. There's a magic in the air, an air of intellectual exploration and wonder, and let's be honest - there's a LOT to see! The spires, the cobblestone streets, the ivy-covered colleges - I wanted to soak it all in.

And of course, my little pink-loving heart wouldn't let me come to Oxford without a tutu. This one, however, had a delightful twist. Think fluffy tulle layers in a pale shade of rose pink, and you’ve got it! I’ve decided to call her “Tutu-licious”, because her embellishments were a sweet and savoury masterpiece.

Imagine my delight as I found delicate sugar plums scattered around the tulle skirt. It was almost too pretty to wear, but when does a little "eat-your-heart-out" sweetness ever hurt anyone, right? My dear friend Alice, the amazing baker I mentioned in my previous posts, sent me these tiny treasures. Alice's passion for food rivals my passion for ballet, and this delightful touch just made my heart sing. It really put the finishing touch to a picture perfect ballet experience.

I decided to spend a couple of hours wandering the bustling, beautiful streets and took lots of snaps of Tutu-licious as a backdrop. Honestly, there were just SO MANY good spots! A historic bridge, a cobbled lane, and a quaint courtyard were a few of the beautiful locations I found that matched Tutu-licious’ elegance.

Speaking of elegance, you'd never guess where I ended up in the afternoon. An enchanting tea shop that could only exist in Oxford, nestled between antique bookstores and cobblestone courtyards! It was everything a tea shop should be. Soft music playing, antique china cups, and endless platters of dainty finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, and oh, the cakes!

I indulged in the most divine lemon meringue pie and drank pot after pot of Earl Grey, lost in a delightful daydream, imagining myself in a ballet in this beautiful tea shop! Now, imagine this: a ballet troupe of pink tutu-clad fairies performing delicate choreography around the dainty china, swirling around a cascade of delicate desserts, a swirling dance between the sweetness and the graceful. Just imagine the beauty, the whimsy, and the utterly charming magic.

The rest of the evening I spent at the New Theatre Oxford, watching an absolutely incredible rendition of "The Nutcracker." The magical performance just felt so alive! You could really feel the dancers' passion for ballet, which honestly, I found myself becoming almost too emotional!

Later, back at my cozy hotel room, with the sounds of the town lulling me to sleep, I felt the magic of the day settling in. It really was one of those "perfect" days you read about in books. You know, the kind that feels like you've been whisked away to a world where everything sparkles and shimmers.

Now, tell me - have you ever visited Oxford? Did it leave a mark on your heart like it did on mine?

Don't forget, my darling Tutu-loving friends, I'm here to remind you that anything is possible with a sprinkle of fairy dust and a pinch of pink. Keep believing in magic and dance your way into a beautiful day! And until next time, happy twirling!
