Kendal Calling: Tutu Adventures in the Lake District! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿฉฐ

Hello lovelies! ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ It's your favourite tutu-wearing traveller, Emma, back with another daily dose of pink-tinted wanderlust!

Today I'm taking you on a magical journey to the picturesque Lake District, where I'm currently residing in the charming town of Kendal. This lovely spot, surrounded by those famous peaks, has been calling to me for ages, and I finally decided to answer its call, armed with my trusty purple tutu (it's just so versatile, darling!) and a head full of dreams.

I've been wanting to explore this region for years, but life has a habit of getting in the way, you know? The call of the stage, the endless ballet classes, the endless tulle to wear โ€“ sometimes I need a good old-fashioned holiday to recharge my batteries. And Kendal has been the perfect escape, allowing me to reconnect with my inner dancer while taking in all the scenic beauty this corner of the UK has to offer.

Let me tell you, my lovelies, this place is a dream! Itโ€™s filled with quaint cobblestone streets, quirky little shops brimming with local crafts, and charming pubs serving up proper pints of local ale. I've spent hours exploring the town centre, stopping for a proper cuppa and a slice of Victoria sponge, taking in all the sights, smells, and sounds of this historic town.

Speaking of sounds, Kendal has its own local theatre โ€“ a little gem tucked away on a cobbled street. On my first night, I was lucky enough to catch a fantastic show with a live band. The whole theatre had such a special atmosphere, everyone was so enthusiastic. There were families, students, and tourists all dressed to the nines, a true community vibe. It's amazing to see such an active and vibrant artistic scene in a small town like Kendal, it truly fills my soul with joy! ๐Ÿฉฐ๐ŸŽญ

One of my favourite activities while in Kendal has been exploring the local countryside. The Lake District is absolutely stunning, I've been hiking along scenic trails with the most breathtaking views of the rolling hills, crystal clear lakes, and picturesque villages. Just the thought of these sights makes my heart flutter, and all I want to do is twirl with the wind and capture these memories in my heart forever.

It's funny how the scenery here always makes me want to spin! Itโ€™s almost as if the beauty and grace of these mountains inspires my dance moves! Just think, maybe the dancers in the theatre performances here get their inspiration from these same scenes? That makes perfect sense! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Speaking of inspiration, you can bet I've been sneaking in a bit of practice! I haven't let this gorgeous scenery distract me from my ballet. Each morning, I find a quiet spot by the lake or in a tranquil meadow, put on my music, and unleash my inner ballerina. My practice is as much about being one with nature as it is about honing my skills, it truly renews my spirit! The Lake District offers the perfect backdrop to indulge in a bit of ballet ballet on the street, the perfect place for a ballerina on holiday!

And while youโ€™re enjoying these sights and dance-tastic stories, don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for our local wildlife! I've seen so many adorable fluffy lambs bouncing around the fields, cute squirrels scampering through the trees, and even some curious deer! Seeing the deer is such a highlight of any walk. These majestic animals remind me of the magic and beauty of the natural world and it makes my love of all things pink and sparkly feel so grounded and real. ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸฆŒ

And no trip to the Lake District is complete without a boat ride. This week, I found the cutest little wooden boat nestled on the banks of Windermere. The owner, a charming gentleman with twinkling blue eyes, gave me the sweetest tour, showing me the most breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains reflected in the crystal clear water. It was just the most enchanting experience, the wind in my hair, the sun on my face, the purple tutu billowing in the breezeโ€ฆ and it made me realise how grateful I am for life, love, and dancing in such stunning places!

The days have just flown by in Kendal, I've absorbed every bit of its unique atmosphere, and I know Iโ€™ll return one day! I feel re-energised and re-inspired, ready to take on any challenge life throws my way. The perfect ballerina tonic, all fuelled by beautiful countryside, gorgeous lakes, and plenty of twirling and tutus! I really believe everyone needs a little more tutu in their life โ€“ maybe itโ€™s not a literal tutu, but perhaps that thing that makes you feel special, joyful, and fully alive!

Well lovelies, time for me to wrap this blog up and take my last leisurely walk around the town before heading home. But, before I sign off, Iโ€™d like to leave you with a thought for today: What makes your heart sing? Is there a place that holds a special place in your heart? Tell me about it, lovelies, letโ€™s share some inspiration in the comments below! ๐Ÿ’•

Keep dancing, stay beautiful, and may your days be filled with a touch of pink and a sprinkle of twirling magic. Until next time! ๐Ÿ‘‹

P.S. Iโ€™ve got a brand new ballet studio back home โ€“ more on that to come soon. Itโ€™s so pink youโ€™d need your sunglasses!๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿฉฐ I canโ€™t wait to share this project with you! And to those who live locally, let's bring Kendal's dance scene to a whole new level of fun, a community where everyone is encouraged to dance, from toddlers to grandma's and everyone in between! Come twirl with me!

Emma.
