Ashington Adventures in a Pink Tutu - Post #1010

Oh darling, you wouldn't believe what an amazing day I've had! The sun was shining, the birds were singing (well, the sparrows were chirping anyway, but close enough!), and I felt positively radiant in my gorgeous pink tutu!

It all began bright and early this morning, after a breakfast of homemade granola and fruit, of course. I couldn't wait to set off on my adventure! As a proud Derbyshirian girl, I always prefer the quaint charm of a train journey, so I hopped on the 8.30 to Ashington. The countryside was just beautiful – lambs frolicking in fields, the trees all starting to bud, and the air smelled of freshly turned earth and…well, the peculiar odour of a diesel engine, but you can't have everything, can you?

My trip to Ashington was for a very special reason. You know how much I adore live ballet, right? Well, there's a brilliant theatre up there putting on a production of Swan Lake starring one of my all-time favourite ballerinas, Eleanor Cavendish! Honestly, darling, she's such an inspiration. So graceful, so strong, such pure talent. I just get totally lost in her dancing, the world fades away and it's all about the music and the story.

Now, as much as I love watching professional ballerinas, I believe everyone should experience the joy of dancing. Whether it's at home, in a class, or on stage, ballet is just so…liberating. There's something magical about feeling your muscles work, your body move in harmony, and your spirit soar!

My Ashington adventure included a visit to the local ballet school, The Dance Academy. I just love checking out different studios – it's always so exciting to see the different styles and approaches to dance. The Dance Academy was all sunshine and warmth, and the students were so full of energy and enthusiasm. It really makes me want to twirl, you know?

Of course, no trip to Ashington would be complete without a bit of wildlife watching. They have a fabulous nature reserve called the Northumberland Wildlife Park, filled with all sorts of wonderful creatures – majestic red deer, playful monkeys, graceful otters, and even a few grumpy looking peacocks. Honestly, their feathers were just the most dazzling shade of emerald green, they looked like they were straight out of a fairytale! I had a right old chuckle trying to get a picture of one, those peacocks, they just wouldn’t keep still, bless them.

By the time I boarded my train back home, I was absolutely exhausted, but it was a beautiful kind of tiredness, you know, the one that comes from having a fantastic day, exploring new places, and meeting some lovely people. I can’t wait for my next big adventure!

Oh, and one more thing before I go…did I mention how absolutely divine pink tutus are? It’s not just a colour, darling, it's a way of life! It’s about embracing joy, confidence, and letting your inner ballerina shine. Think about it: if we all wore pink tutus, the world would be a much more delightful place! So, are you ready to take the plunge and embrace the pink tutu revolution? Join me, darlings!

Stay fabulous,

Emma
