Bournville Bound in Pink - #1018

Ahoy there, my darlings!

It's your favourite pink tutu enthusiast here, Emma, reporting live from...Bournville! Yep, you read that right. I'm swapping my usual Derbyshire countryside for a dash of chocolate-y charm today. But don't worry, I haven't forgotten my beloved tutu - how could I? It's a glorious, billowing white one today, perfect for flitting around this quaint town like a graceful swan (minus the pond, obviously).

This little jaunt started this morning with a rather unconventional mode of transport. Forget your stuffy, modern trains – I'm talking horse-drawn carriage, ladies! It's all part of a themed day out with my friend, Lily, who, despite her aversion to pink (a mystery to me, I tell you!), loves the ballet as much as I do.

We're in Bournville for the Royal Ballet's touring performance of "The Sleeping Beauty". How absolutely divine, I tell you! I mean, let's be honest, nothing beats a little classic fairytale magic, and seeing it come to life on stage, well, it's truly a feast for the senses. I'm so excited I practically burst my tulle!

Speaking of bursting with excitement, this trip also marks a milestone for yours truly! Today's post, this very one, is number 1018 for www.pink-tutu.com. Imagine, my little corner of the internet – dedicated to all things pink, fluffy, and fabulous! – has been filled with my ramblings and rambles for over two years. Honestly, my heart swells with joy. You lovely lot make it all worthwhile!

But back to Bournville...

It's the perfect backdrop for a day of ballerina-ness. Imagine: chocolatey scent in the air, quaint, colourful buildings lining cobbled streets, and all of it enhanced by the dreamy atmosphere of "The Sleeping Beauty". It's like stepping into a storybook.

Before the ballet, Lily and I explored the charming town, taking in the historical Cadbury factory and, of course, indulging in some delicious hot chocolate! After all, it's only fair to sample the local delights. (I'm definitely considering getting some chocolates for my dance teacher, Mr. Thompson. He might even loosen up his strict no-chocolate-during-class rule!)

But the highlight of the day, without a doubt, was the performance. From the delicate opening to the exhilarating climax, it was pure enchantment. The choreography was captivating, the music, as always, made my soul soar, and the costumes were simply divine – especially the fairy tutus, naturally! I can’t deny that a small part of me was incredibly envious, wanting nothing more than to trade places with the ballerinas on stage.

But then, I caught a glimpse of myself reflected in a shop window, and let me tell you, that pink tutu looked damn good on me too! My outfit was on point – a classic ballerina silhouette of a baby pink silk top paired with my white tulle. My trusty pearl necklace, a pink velvet ribbon around my waist, and of course, a matching pink handbag to carry all my ballerina essentials: a little ballet notebook for sketching out choreography ideas (I've been itching to start creating my own routine!), my water bottle, and my trusty portable phone charger. After all, how else can one stay connected to all my lovely blog readers?!

Afterwards, Lily and I even got to meet a couple of the dancers! I confess, I may have squealed a little when I saw them in their gorgeous, glitter-encrusted tutus and feather boas. They were even more amazing in person than they were on stage! Lily, who doesn't even share my obsession with ballet costumes, was pretty smitten too.

While I dream of the stage myself, I know my calling is different. I don’t just love ballet; I want to inspire others to join me in this incredible journey of grace, strength, and pure joy. It’s a lifelong passion, and my blog is my platform to share that passion with the world.

Whether you’re a seasoned ballerina or just curious about this incredible art form, I invite you to embrace your inner tutu and give it a go! It’s more than just dance; it's a whole world of wonder waiting to be explored. Who knows? Maybe someday you'll be strutting your stuff in a pink tutu at your own “Pink Tutu Day”, dancing under the sky like a whimsical dream!

Until next time, my dears, may your lives be filled with the grace of a swan and the joy of a well-timed pirouette!

**Your forever pink-tutu-loving friend,

Emma**
