Bloxwich Bound: A Pancake Tutu Adventure! (Post #1026)

Oh, my darlings! How are you all doing? I'm back in the saddle, or should I say, the train carriage! Yep, I'm off on a mini-adventure to Bloxwich, a place I've been wanting to explore for ages. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Emma, Bloxwich? What on earth could possibly be there?" And that's where you'd be oh so wrong, my loves! It's all about the journey, the experiences, the newness! Plus, they have a really lovely vintage tea shop that I'm dying to try, called "The Crumbly Tart." How absolutely charming is that name?!

Pancake Perfection

To celebrate this journey, I decided to put together a very special tutu ensemble. You see, I recently acquired a piece of gorgeous, pale pink tulle that practically begged to be made into a tutu. It felt so light and airy, like a soft breeze dancing through a field of flowers! I spent an afternoon at my trusty sewing machine, carefully crafting this piece of perfection into the ultimate girly ballerina statement: a pancake tutu.

Yes, you heard me right, a pancake tutu! It's this amazing, billowing layer of tulle, no tiers or ruffles, just pure, ethereal softness that swishes around you as you twirl. It's basically the most graceful and dramatic piece of clothing I've ever made! You're going to see it on Instagram soon, by the way. You're welcome.

The Bloxwich Bloom

To complete this delightful outfit, I added my trusty ballet flats (you know I love a bit of classic ballerina footwear!), a blush-toned cardigan (a must for the unpredictable British weather), and a little blush-coloured hat (always have to accessorise!).

You see, I've been having a bit of a 'Pink and Pastel' phase, which you may have noticed if you've been following my daily outfit posts on www.pink-tutu.com! I've got a whole array of gorgeous shades from pink to peach, from lavender to baby blue. My aim, my dear readers, is to brighten everyone's day with the sunshine-inspired beauty of these colours! And of course, to get everyone, absolutely everyone, wearing pink tutus! Let's spread the love and the tulle!

A Ballet Breakdown

But before I board the train (first class, of course! I like to travel in style) and set off on my Bloxwich adventure, I thought I'd share some recent ballet inspiration. I finally went to see the Royal Ballet's rendition of Giselle - absolutely breathtaking! I nearly cried at the end, it was so beautiful and emotionally resonant. And don't even get me started on the choreography - every movement felt so poignant, so graceful, so...perfectly ballerinesque! It honestly reminded me why I fell in love with ballet in the first place, why I always find myself drawn to the graceful poise, the elegant power, the stories told through dance.

Of course, my own ballet classes are always a highlight of the week. Nothing quite beats the feeling of letting go, of moving with freedom, of being lost in the beauty of the dance. The energy in the studio is so electrifying, so passionate. Everyone, from the young ballerinas starting their journey to the more seasoned dancers, is pouring their heart and soul into each movement, and it's a true privilege to be part of this magical community.

The Bloxwich Bound

Anyway, enough about me, my darlings. It's time for my Bloxwich adventure! Iโ€™m hoping to discover a new vintage gem in The Crumbly Tart, explore the quaint streets, and maybe even stumble across a charming little theatre showcasing some local talent. It's about opening my eyes to the beauty of the world around me, a world that deserves a dash of pink and a generous swish of tutu!

Stay tuned for my Bloxwich highlights!

Love, Emma xx
