Hartlepool, Darling! Tutu Adventures in the North East! 🩰

Blog Post #1097

Hiya darlings! It's your girl, Emma, from pink-tutu.com reporting live from…well, let’s just say I’m a little further north than usual. Can you guess? Twirls

You're right! I'm in Hartlepool, folks, and what a trip it's been already! After catching a gorgeous sunrise over the Derbyshires, I decided to swap the quaint train ride from the usual scenic peaks for a little jaunt with a…well, let’s just say the horses weren't impressed with my vibrant pink tutu! (But, of course, who could blame them?) They decided it was far too fashionable and pulled their weight… I ended up getting dropped in the middle of nowhere, near the North Sea, apparently, in the Teeside area! (Thankfully my trusty portable hairbrush acted as a great hairpiece to keep my locks out of my face - that’s the trick! 😉)

But honestly, no matter how dramatic the journey, getting to explore this fabulously rugged area, where the North Sea meets the stunning scenery, is definitely an adventure worth celebrating! (The fish and chips were a great surprise too, don’t get me wrong!).

From Tutu to Harbour…

Hartlepool itself is charming – you know me, I'm a sucker for a pretty harbour, especially one brimming with fishing boats and historic ships. The town boasts some seriously beautiful, colourful buildings (even prettier when reflected in the sparkling harbour!). The fact that this gem is tucked away on a coastline just adds to its appeal, eh?

And of course, every great adventure needs a little ballet…

My fellow tutu enthusiasts, brace yourselves - I had a little impromptu tutu twirl session on the harbour side, watching the waves gently lap against the pier! I even managed to sneak a peek at the magnificent Hartlepool Headland (can you believe it was actually an ancient volcano?! Who knew? Honestly! But don’t worry, darling, no volcano in my ballet-world! 😉 ) The views were simply divine. Think majestic cliffs meeting the cerulean waters – what more could a tutu-wearing ballerina ask for?

Wildlife Watching, Tutu Style!

So I spent my afternoon wandering amongst the coastal path and…wait for it… I saw a seal! My lovely fellow creatures enjoying their beach day too. How incredible! My day just got even more beautiful! (Although the photo on Instagram didn't come out too well - need more practice!) I have to say the whole region is a true gem, from the vibrant, coastal town to the awe-inspiring seabird colonies, seals and hidden coves – perfect for all you budding explorers!

And, in true pink tutu fashion, you can bet I had a mini-balletic celebration… A graceful skip here, a gentle pirouette there… whispers You never know, you might be graced with a surprise tutus and tap dancing whale (though, I haven't seen any whale in sight yet... but, the whale could always be out dancing!). But truly, the stunning landscape has me wanting to move and groove - I'm so glad my little tutu adventure led me to such an incredible spot.

Spreading Tutu Joy...

Of course, no day trip is complete without some tutu-tastic encouragement for everyone, right?! I spent the rest of the evening getting the local community into their dance steps! grinning mischievously You would not believe how many people were rocking a tutus on the high street!

(Spoiler alert: there weren’t actually many, but let’s be honest, everyone could use some tutu inspiration).

Oh, did I mention I also ran into the cutest little pug sporting a miniature pink tutu? My little ballet heart just melted! We had a little tutu-dance-off on the street. It's a good job this lovely pooch knew his steps – he definitely gave me a run for my tutu-tastic money!

Hartlepool - Until Next Time!

I have to admit, Hartlepool has captured my heart…it has so much to offer and is just so captivating. I promise, it’s the most exciting destination in the north of England (sorry Whitby!).

This little town truly has everything: charm, scenic beauty, a good dollop of local spirit (I love local spirit!), and a truly vibrant heart (with even a ballet beat).

See you tomorrow darlings, I'll be back on pink-tutu.com for more fun, dance, and travelling shenanigans, and of course a few tutus in between!
