Carlisle Calling! #TutuBlog 1115 - Fairies & Fancy Footwork! 💖

Helloooo my darling Tutu-Lovers! 👋

It's your girl, Emma, back with another #TutuBlog from the road! I’m on the move again, and today’s destination is the lovely, historical city of Carlisle! This time, I’m not on the back of a magnificent steed, no, this time, it’s the rhythmic click-clack of a train journey to the north. 🚄 I'm packing my pinkest tutu, a sprinkle of fairy dust, and a big dose of enthusiasm for a fabulous weekend of dancing, exploring, and maybe even some wildlife spotting! 🌳

This city, steeped in history, is full of amazing architectural delights - castles, cathedrals, and cobbled streets to explore. My first stop after arriving at the station was the Carlisle Cathedral, with its towering spires reaching towards the sky. I couldn’t resist a twirl or two on the grass, just to feel the history surrounding me. It was so peaceful, the perfect place to let my imagination run wild. 🕊️

Speaking of wild imaginations, you just know that my travel essentials include a touch of magic! This weekend’s tutu? Well, it’s a dream! 💫 It’s a shimmering, shimmering pale pink, with little glittering snowflakes scattered all over, each one holding a tiny sparkling pearl. It’s definitely a tutu that makes you feel like a ballerina from a magical story! You wouldn't believe the looks I got walking through the station. Even the train driver gave me a knowing smile! 😂

I’m making my way through Carlisle now, soaking up the atmosphere of this historic city. The cobblestone streets, the old shops, the people… all weaving together to create something truly special.

Tonight’s highlight? A dazzling ballet performance at the historic Carlisle Theatre. ✨ The show is all about a young dancer who discovers a secret world of fairies and dreams, with magical tutus, of course! Can you guess which tutu I’m wearing?! 🤫 It was a simply magical night - so full of emotion, such beautiful movements, and of course, spectacular tutus galore. Every dancer in the production had their own, each one a unique masterpiece. We even got a special rendition of "Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake," featuring the iconic white swan tutu - what a treat!

You know me, I had to sneak into the rehearsal room at the theatre to catch the dancers warming up! What a treat to see those lithe figures leaping and twirling with so much grace and energy! The energy is electrifying - I could almost feel the magic dancing in the air. It reminded me again why ballet is so incredibly special. 💕

Of course, any visit to a new town is a chance to explore! Carlisle is no exception, and this city is full of quirky, hidden treasures. I popped into a lovely little shop full of handmade jewellery and gifts, with delicate necklaces and trinkets, each one an intricate masterpiece. I have a weakness for all things sparkly, so I just had to indulge in a few special little pieces! ✨

On my walk today, I passed by an amazing spot full of colourful birds flitting and singing! It reminded me of the importance of looking around and appreciating the beauty in our everyday surroundings, even the simplest things. 🦜 Just like I'm looking to bring a touch of joy to your day with this little piece of my adventure. ✨ And trust me, when you step into a tutu and twirl around in your own special world, magic happens! ✨

My biggest hope is to inspire you all to discover your own joy and freedom through movement and, of course, to embrace your inner ballerina! 😉 What's your favorite tutu memory? What city should I head to next? And what’s the best fairy tale you’ve ever read? I want to hear it all!

Love always,

Emma xx 💖
