Walsall Whirlwind: Tutu Travels & Train Rides! 🩰🚂

Post 1125

Hello, darlings! It's your favourite tutu-tastic travel blogger, Emma, back from a whirlwind trip to Walsall, a charming little town in the West Midlands. I absolutely adored my time there! The cobbled streets, the bustling markets, the friendly faces… it felt like stepping back in time, and I’m a sucker for history! Plus, can we talk about the beautiful countryside surrounding the town? Truly breathtaking, perfect for a horse ride with my favourite companion, Chestnut!

Walsall was actually my pit stop on a lovely train journey. Nothing beats the feeling of the wind in my hair as the scenery rushes by – it’s truly magical, a journey straight from a fairytale! It definitely set the tone for my time in Walsall, which felt like a quaint little fairytale town.

Now, onto the real reason for my visit… Walsall Arts Centre, darlings! That’s where the most divine dance studio awaits, where my ballet boots click-clacked across the wooden floor as I twirled my heart out! I’ve been practicing pirouettes for weeks and I’ve finally nailed them - at least on good days! But this studio in Walsall was magic! It truly felt like I’d been transported to a different dimension, one where my soul could fly, pirouette, and jeté with abandon!

After my fantastic class, I had to try the famous Walsall cakes, darling. Don’t judge! The sweet scent wafting from the local bakeries made my stomach rumble with a most delightful hunger. They’re known for their yummy ‘Walsall tarts’, a pastry masterpiece made with pastry and a yummy custard filling - oh so tempting! I'll confess I succumbed and had one, followed by another, and maybe another one… but who can resist a treat this good?

Later in the evening, I joined the locals in a pub. I must tell you, darling, I don’t often go to pubs - a good champagne bar, or maybe a cocktail lounge is my more usual place for an evening drink. But I felt strangely drawn to this warm, cozy place. And what was even more special about the evening was the entertainment: a local folk band! The lively music made my heart happy - the music flowed through me, energising me and making me want to dance.

One thing that always catches my eye on travels are the animals, darling. And Walsall, you see, is a haven for horses! As I wandered the streets, I spotted beautiful Chestnut horses, perfectly adorned with intricate floral designs for the local shows! Just looking at them filled me with a kind of deep, primal peace. A quiet moment of reflection among all the excitement.

Walsall was an enchanting surprise. From the picturesque cobbled streets to the delicious treats and the captivating performances, I was mesmerised. Oh, and how could I forget my lovely visit to the local museum, showcasing Walsall's history with some exquisite artifacts and artwork, all meticulously preserved and presented? I couldn't help but feel a connection to the town's past and present.

*What do I love the most about this little town? *

  • *The Ballet Spirit: *It's so easy to fall in love with a place that truly cherishes ballet! I simply cannot resist any studio, theater or ballet school that puts this beautiful art form front and center. Walsall really has that vibe and, let's be honest, I am so here for it!
  • *Charming Nostalgia: * Walsall had an old-world charm that stole my heart. Its historic streets, charming architecture, and even the smell of the local bakeries brought a warm smile to my face.
  • *Friendly Locals: *Everywhere I went, I was greeted with warm smiles and friendly chats. They made me feel right at home and reminded me of the best bits of the countryside folk – that heart-warming hospitality that never gets old.
  • *That Magical Mix: * From history and nature, to delicious food and vibrant music – Walsall has a beautiful combination that’s utterly captivating! It's an enchanting place to simply relax, unwind and immerse yourself in local life.

And if you’re in the area, darlings, remember to keep your eyes peeled for a little pink-tutu-clad dancer prancing through town - that just might be me! Remember, the world is a much better place with a dash of pink and a twist of twirling, and my mission is to spread that joy far and wide. So go on, try ballet, try wearing pink, embrace life, and twirl to your heart's content!

Until next time, darlings, keep those tutus twirling! 💖🩰

XOXO
