TutuBlog: Post 1242 - Wigston Magna - A Flutter of Italian Pink

Oh my darlings, I’m back! This little tutu has been busy fluttering its way through the UK’s beautiful countryside again! This time, it’s taken me to the lovely town of Wigston Magna, a quaint little gem in Leicestershire. I swear, my little heart skips a beat whenever I find a new place that reminds me of my sweet Derbyshire countryside - and Wigston Magna is a real charmer!

Now, before we get swept away by the charm of Wigston Magna (which, don't get me wrong, it is incredibly charming!), let me tell you about the journey itself! As always, I opted for a scenic route, leaving the humdrum of the motorways behind me. My loyal steed (a delightful, mahogany-coloured horse named Clementine) and I trotted along, the crisp autumn air whipping through my hair, my heart singing with every rustle of leaves. The golden light filtered through the trees, making the world around me glow with an almost magical quality.

*Clementine was a real star, darling. *

But hold your horses (pun intended)! Clementine was kind enough to leave me at a local stable, just outside the town, and I was thrilled to board the iconic Flying Scotsman express to continue my journey to Wigston Magna. Now, who doesn’t adore a good steam engine? Just the sight of it chugging its way along, spewing plumes of steam and smoke into the air, is a true delight. Plus, let’s face it, there's something uniquely glamorous about train travel. The soft, rhythmic sway, the clatter of the wheels on the tracks, the whiff of that distinctive "train scent" – it all conjures up an air of excitement and romance.

When I arrived in Wigston Magna, I had to admire the Victorian architecture. My oh my! These beautiful, stately homes painted in vibrant hues, with intricate detailing - such craftsmanship, don't you think? They were truly breathtaking, and they just begged for a grand photoshoot in my favorite, pinkest tutu!

Wigston Magna really knows how to treat a girl like me!

Of course, no trip is complete without a little ballet! Thankfully, the town has a fabulous ballet studio, where I enjoyed a delightful afternoon class with the loveliest bunch of students. It was heartwarming to witness the pure passion and joy that radiated from these young, hopeful dancers. As I twirled and leapt across the studio, I couldn't help but remember my own dreams of pirouette perfection - dreams I know you share, my dearest Tutu-followers. We’re all a bit tutu-crazy, aren’t we?

After class, I decided to explore the local park, which was a veritable wonderland of nature! You’d be surprised to find so many green spaces tucked away in little towns like this. I’m so lucky to be surrounded by so much beauty, and the wildlife in this park, my dear friends, is a true delight. From the adorable, cheeky squirrels scrambling through the trees, to the fluffy ducks waddling along the ponds, every moment was pure magic. There were even a few magnificent birds of prey circling overhead, making me wish I was a tiny dancer twirling high in the sky.

Later that evening, I had the privilege of attending a magical performance by the Wigston Magna Ballet Company. You see, it's a beautiful tradition I try to cultivate. Everywhere I go, I seek out these local dance groups, often the ones that are run by passionate, dedicated individuals. They bring such life and vibrancy to these small towns, and you know me, I’m a sucker for a bit of community spirit! The performances are always wonderfully engaging and inspiring, showcasing a vast range of talents. This time, the evening was truly magical! The choreography was innovative, and the performers displayed a mastery of technique, passion, and heart that simply left me speechless. It truly made my tutu spin with joy!

Oh, and darling! Let's not forget the fashion!

One of the key highlights of this Wigston Magna adventure was my discovery of an absolutely fabulous Italian tutu! It was this gorgeous shade of blush pink, with the most intricate embroidery that literally shimmered in the light. As soon as I saw it, I knew it had to be mine. It fit me like a dream and I literally felt like a princess!

So there you have it, my sweet Tutu-lovers. Wigston Magna was another absolute delight, and a reminder that even the smallest of towns can have big dreams and big hearts.

But the journey continues, dear readers!

Soon, I'll be packing my dancing shoes and pink tutu to discover a whole new world, brimming with captivating destinations and vibrant people! I hope you'll join me, my dears! I wouldn't be half as lovely without you all.

And as always, darling, until next time…

Wear your pinkest tutus!
