Melton Mowbray Magic: Pink Tutu Takes on the Midlands

Post Number: 1270

Hello darlings! It's your girl Emma, back with another pink-tutu-tastic blog post. Today, I'm taking you with me on a delightful trip to the heart of England, Melton Mowbray. The air is crisp, the festive spirit is in full swing, and of course, I'm sporting my most fabulously pink tutu. This, my loves, is what I call holiday cheer!

Melton Mowbray, you see, has been calling to me for ages. A haven for pie enthusiasts (who can resist a good pork pie?!) and home to the fabulous Melton Mowbray Market, a proper treasure trove of delights, this charming town was just screaming for a pink tutu visit.

And the journey? Oh, it was a joy. I swapped the high-speed train for a thrilling ride in a horse-drawn carriage. It's amazing how you get a totally different perspective when you're sitting up high, just a little bit closer to the clouds and a whole lot closer to the glorious British countryside. I felt like a princess in a fairytale, with the wind in my hair and the hooves clopping merrily on the cobbled streets.

But let's be honest, the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the Melton Mowbray Market. It's a veritable feast for the senses, a whirlwind of vibrant colours, delicious aromas, and bustling stalls overflowing with artisanal treasures. I had to restrain myself from buying EVERYTHING! It was just too much fun!

I ended up with a basket full of handmade gifts for my friends (and let's not forget a few little treats for myself!), a couple of irresistible Melton Mowbray pork pies (because even pink tutu princesses have their weaknesses), and a glorious pink velvet hair ribbon. Now, that was a score!

Of course, a pink tutu can't visit a new place without partaking in some local culture, right? So, after a quick pit stop for some of those scrumptious pastries, I wandered into the local library to check out their community dance class. Now, you know me – always up for a good cha-cha! Turns out they have a ballet class every Tuesday, but this being a festive week, they were offering a special "Holiday Dance Workshop." Imagine my delight!

I'd be lying if I said I didn't turn a few heads waltzing into that class in my glorious pink tutu, I got quite a few approving smiles. They loved my energy, even if the locals were a little confused by my choice of footwear. I mean, ballet shoes in Melton Mowbray? Now that's a sight! But I can assure you, it's a sight that's truly worth seeing. I had a blast, spinning and twirling alongside some lovely ladies and gentlemen of all ages and backgrounds. It’s truly a reminder that ballet isn’t just a form of art, but a way to connect, express yourself, and spread joy.

My adventure in Melton Mowbray didn't end there, darlings! The town also has a fantastic Wildlife Centre, full of furry creatures just itching to be loved and admired. I spent a delightful afternoon getting to know some magnificent birds of prey, some cute bunnies, and even a mischievous fox who seemed particularly fascinated with my pink tutu.

As I boarded my train home, I felt incredibly full of good cheer. Melton Mowbray had captured a little piece of my heart, with its charming cobbled streets, friendly people, and incredible abundance of unique experiences. It reminded me of the sheer magic and wonder that can be found just outside your own doorstep.

And let's not forget, I also met some incredible dancers and saw so much pink on the market streets, I swear I saw a few men rocking pink tutus (maybe?) – that’s the power of spreading pink, you guys! Remember, everyone looks great in pink, so don’t be shy, jump on the pink tutu train with me!

Until next time, keep your heads held high, twirl those tutus with pride, and stay lovely,

Emma x
