Solihull Sparkle: Tutu Travels and Train Journeys! 💖🩰

Hello my lovelies! 💖 Emma here, your ever-so-slightly-obsessed tutu-wearing travel buddy, ready to whisk you away on another adventure!

Today, we're hopping on the train and taking a delightful trip to Solihull, a charming town in the West Midlands, where I'm on a mission to experience the world of ballet from a slightly different angle. But before we even reach Solihull, let's talk tutus!

A German Gem!

Because honestly, how can I even start a post without a fabulous tutu-related anecdote? I've recently fallen head over heels (literally!) for a gorgeous pink tutu I spotted at a charming vintage shop in Derbyshire. Imagine the most delicate tulle, the softest blush hue, and a smattering of shimmering silver sequins - absolute perfection! And it even came with a beautiful antique-looking broach – a little gem shaped like a ballerina!

This little gem is going to be making its debut on this trip, of course. You'll have to wait for the Instagram pics to see it in all its glory!

Solihull: A Dance Journey

The journey on the train to Solihull is so much fun, by the way. I have to admit I get way too excited about train journeys, especially with a fab tutu in tow. I spend most of the time window-gazing, taking in the English countryside whizzing past. I love seeing the different colours and landscapes change. My favourite part is seeing all the little towns with cute names like 'Leamington Spa', or ‘Little Haywood’ which seems absolutely tiny!

Once I arrive in Solihull, I'm off to The Core Theatre to catch a fantastic performance by a local dance company. I’m excited to see how the company approaches choreography, the lighting and set design. The atmosphere is buzzing and everyone is dressed so elegantly. I think I even spotted a man wearing a pink tie in honour of my pink tutu – he winked at me, maybe I inspired him!

A Delicious Detour!

After the show, my tummy starts rumbling. A quick google search leads me to a cafe with the name that just screams deliciousness - 'The Little Sweet Shop'. How could I resist a visit, especially after a delightful night of ballet? Inside, the aroma of freshly baked treats fills my senses, and I can't help but try a slice of their legendary carrot cake, followed by a delicately iced strawberry cupcake. You'd think I'd be too excited to even eat, but this is my secret, if I'm eating cake, then my tutu is my excuse.

Sharing the Dance Love!

Speaking of the 'sharing' part, I was actually inspired to make a new 'Dance It Out' Instagram Story challenge! This is where I pick a new dance every day. If you're struggling to get a tutu out for a twirl, at least you can shake those shoulders. Follow my Instagram and check out the story if you want to join! You might see me post a little tutorial here and there if I'm feeling brave!

A Sunset Ride

Since my trip has to include a touch of adventure (tutus and adventure are a pretty fantastic combination, if I may say so myself), I decided to ditch the train for the journey home and try a different kind of travel - a ride through the stunning Warwickshire countryside on a trusty horse! My dear friend Rosie owns a horse named Chestnut, who is patient enough to indulge my pink tutu obsession, thankfully! The evening sunset on a peaceful country lane feels completely magical. And for a moment, it feels like a ballet, with Chestnut’s long, fluid steps.

Embrace Your Inner Tutu-Wearing Princess!

I hope I’ve inspired you to try a little tutu travel adventure! And if not, try wearing a tutu to a ballet, take a ballet class, or simply add a splash of pink to your everyday attire! Don’t forget to keep dancing, keep travelling and keep spreading the joy of tutu-fied life.

Remember, you don't have to be a ballerina to embrace the fun and freedom that comes with wearing a tutu, Let’s keep spreading the love of ballet! 💖

Catch you all tomorrow!

Emma xo
