TutuBlog: Post #1345: Hammersmith, Baby, and an Italian Tutu!

Oh my darlings,

You know me and my insatiable appetite for all things tutu. I just cannot get enough of these fabulous, swishy, floaty beauties! And this little ditty is going to be all about tutus, ballet, and a gorgeous Italian creation that is quite frankly, chef's kiss.

So, picture this: Derbyshire girl Emma, with her trusty (and always very pink!) backpack, is on her way to Hammersmith to soak up a dose of that legendary London ballet energy. I always say there's something in the air, in that part of the world, that just makes you want to twirl. Now, usually I take the train – there’s something so glamorous about looking out the window as you zoom through the countryside – but this time I had a bit of a whim. I couldn't resist hopping onto a (slightly) dusty carriage and enjoying a scenic journey through the countryside on horseback. A touch romantic, don’t you think? I always say a bit of "rural" is good for the soul – and I'm quite partial to a good gallop.

Anyway, the excitement didn’t stop when I reached Hammersmith! After a spot of tea and a cheeky (and very pink, of course) cupcake, I popped into the fabulous Ballet Boutique. You simply must visit, my dears – it’s a little piece of ballet heaven. It's got tutus of every imaginable style and colour – it’s frankly intoxicating. But my eyes immediately zeroed in on this stunner. You know I have a thing for classic, and this beauty was exactly that. A glorious Italian hand-made creation with the most gorgeous layers of soft tulle in shades of pale blush, and it sparkled like magic with delicate silver embellishments.

This, my friends, is the kind of tutu that speaks for itself. The moment I stepped out of the shop I felt like a princess! It was calling to me, practically screaming, “Put me on stage!”

And you know me, darling, I rarely say no to a bit of impromptu twirling.

I ended up at the beautiful, iconic Hammersmith Apollo. It's a legendary venue and perfect for a little ballet improvisation! A touch of spontaneous expression is always a good thing! You never know who you might inspire. Let’s just say there was a certain amount of wide-eyed stares and a certain amount of laughter from passersby! And let's be honest, who doesn’t want a little joy in their day, right?

Of course, after that wonderful whirlwind of a day, it was back to the railway station and on to my quiet evening with a glass of Pinot and a good ballet book (no spoilers!).

So there you have it – another day of fabulous tutus, twirling, and good ol' fashioned ballet fun. I may have just spent a few short hours in the city, but it's incredible what you can achieve with a bit of magic and a great outfit! It's enough to make even the most grounded of us want to throw on our finest pink tutu and embrace the joy of dance.

P.S – If you're looking for the perfect outfit for your next ballet class (or a good dose of happy, happy, joy, joy) make sure to pop over to www.pink-tutu.com You can even see photos of me wearing this stunning Italian masterpiece – I'm talking full spin and twirl!

Until tomorrow, darlings!
