Hastings: Where the Feathers Flow! (Post #1352)

Oh darling, I'm practically bouncing off the walls! You see, today's adventure brought me to the glorious seaside town of Hastings, and my dear diary, let me tell you, it's an absolute dream for a girl with a feather-tutu-loving heart like mine. I took the scenic route, naturally. A gentle amble across the green rolling hills of the English countryside in a carriage drawn by two of the most stunning dappled grey horses. The gentle clop-clop of hooves on cobblestone, the scent of blooming hawthorn and the crisp, clean air; absolute bliss!

I knew that Hastings would be special; a historic town with such character and charm. I always love finding new nooks and crannies where a little bit of "Pink-tutu-loving-Emma" can shine. And you know me, darling - if there's a pink feather to be found, I'm the girl to find it! (Actually, a cheeky little robin decided to borrow my pink feather boa for a moment while I was enjoying a scrumptious cream tea - I can't deny it looked pretty snazzy on him!)

Speaking of feathers, the sheer beauty of Hastings Castle really took my breath away! Those ancient stone walls, the breathtaking views of the sea and those graceful swans, swanning gracefully about in the moat – it felt like I was stepping straight into a medieval ballet! The sun glistened on their sleek, white plumage, like a shimmering silver ballet tutu.

There's a really unique, artistic atmosphere here. So much creativity swirling about, just waiting to be danced out! There were quirky boutiques filled with brightly coloured vintage clothes that would have looked just smashing in a ballet scene! One little store was even crammed full of feather boas and fancy boas! I nearly went bonkers - oh the endless possibilities for new tutus and ensembles. I’ve already got ideas churning for my next YouTube video on how to DIY the ultimate feather boa ballet dress! (Follow me on Instagram @PinkTutuEmma for all the latest fashion and ballet inspiration!)

It was also amazing to bump into a group of lovely ladies practicing their dance steps right there on the seafront promenade. The cool ocean breeze, the waves crashing against the shore, the vibrant colours of the town… they created such a magical ambience. They were so warm and welcoming, inviting me to join them for a few twirls. It was wonderful to share that joy of movement, to feel the energy flowing through me, and, most importantly, to show them that anyone can dance. I told them my dream: to see everyone wearing a pink tutu! They even showed me some fabulous, intricate steps, even a little bit of a chassé here and there. I think it's safe to say I was the pinkest and possibly the fluffiest ballerina on that beach that afternoon!

But here’s a secret. While I love a grand, theatrical tutu, nothing compares to the exhilaration of dancing bare-foot on the soft, warm sand, the breeze whipping my hair about my face as I spin around! There’s just something utterly magical about ballet in a stunning location!

After the sunset painted the sky with brilliant hues of purple and orange, I finally left my little dance paradise. The air felt so cool and refreshing on my face, I almost regretted leaving Hastings behind! However, my carriage was waiting, patiently chomping on a final carrot, and I could already see myself stepping into the grand studio in Derbyshire with a little spring in my step, ready to share the magic I found today with my beloved ballet class. Perhaps I'll even design a special feather tutu, just for them, inspired by the shimmering swans in Hastings Castle!

So, darlings, my journey continues! Stay tuned to www.pink-tutu.com, my digital home for all things pink and all things tutu! Until then, happy twirling! xx
