Chester, My Darling! #1356

Ooh, my lovelies! I hope youā€™re all well and fabulous. This little Derbyshire lass is so excited to share my adventures from a trip to Chester, a city Iā€™d been longing to visit!

The journey itself was a delight. I traded in my trusty car for a romantic train ride, listening to the rhythmic click-clack of the tracks as I dreamt of all the wonders Chester held. (Seriously, a train journey, even for just a couple of hours, is just so chic.)

Now, Chesterā€™s a town steeped in history. Think cobbled streets, half-timbered buildings, and charming shops crammed with gorgeous knick-knacks. The moment I stepped out of the station, the air buzzed with that quintessential English charm ā€“ it was like a scene straight out of a Jane Austen novel!

First up on the itinerary was, of course, a visit to the Chester Grosvenor Theatre. I've got a confession to make - I adore the ballet. I canā€™t even resist a cheeky bit of ballet street dance too. Thereā€™s something just so enchanting and beautiful about the art form. And luckily, they were hosting the fabulous Birmingham Royal Ballet! A whole evening filled with twirling ballerinas, delicate jumps, and powerful performances that left me mesmerised. I'd almost forgotten my promise to post this blog post for my lovely readers ā€“ I was so wrapped up in the ballet!

Speaking of ā€œwrapped upā€, I wore a pink tutu, of course, which felt absolutely perfect amongst the historical grandeur. Pink and Chester were simply made for each other, wouldnā€™t you agree? I've always believed pink brings out the beauty in everything, and that definitely included Chester.

You wouldn't believe how many heads turned when I strolled through the town, tutu swirling and pink heels clicking! The ladies gasped, the men winked, and the children just giggled with delight. Itā€™s always a pleasure seeing how the simple act of twirling can make people smile, you know?

But my adventures in Chester were far from over. No trip to this lovely city is complete without exploring the majestic Chester Cathedral. Oh, my dear friends, that place is truly spectacular! I almost expected to bump into an angel or two wandering its hallowed halls. The architecture, the stained glass windows, the hushed atmosphere ā€“ it just feltā€¦ otherworldly. My own, personal mini pilgrimage. But of course, the whole experience felt even more magical wearing my pink tutu. (Youā€™ve got to try it!)

Now, every fashionista knows that a trip isnā€™t complete without a touch of retail therapy. So I indulged in a little browsing along the Rows (thatā€™s what the truly fabulous shopping streets are called here, isn't that clever?) Think charming shops selling all manner of quirky and beautiful things, from handmade jewellery and quirky homeware to adorable vintage teacups (I almost snatched a few but then decided I had to stick to my travel budget - boo hoo!)

Chester, with its history and quaint shops, felt like a world away from my usual Derbyshire routine, but with a delightful dose of vintage glamour. (It certainly reminded me why I absolutely love a day trip.) The Rows reminded me so much of the independent, handmade, ethical pieces we cherish at pink-tutu.com.

A highlight for me (which I had to share!) was taking a pony ride alongside the Dee River, where the picturesque English countryside rolled out on all sides. A perfect moment to soak in the serenity and the fresh air ā€“ not to mention the sunshine that had blessed this little Derbyshire lass's visit! Who says grown-ups can't have a pony ride?

Another absolute must-see is Chester Zoo! Oh, the wonderful variety of wildlife is breathtaking! Now, donā€™t be surprised if you see my outfit for the day: a pair of gorgeous, floral patterned leggings and - yes, you guessed it - my tutu. You see, a girl canā€™t resist a spot of pink amongst the giraffes, zebras, and the other spectacular wildlife (I think the penguins were particularly fond of it!)

I know, I know. Youā€™re dying to know what I saw there. But this is my personal blog - itā€™s not meant to be an endless zoo guide, though perhaps I could create a blog post all about that? (Just send a message to the Pink Tutu mailbox and let me know!)

Speaking of pink-tutu.com my dearest friends ā€“ weā€™re almost halfway through this monthā€™s Pink Tutu Challenge! Did you remember to try twirling at least three times today? I'm totally committed. Donā€™t forget to use #PinkTutuChallenge on all your photos so I can see your incredible outfits!

Right, now for some homework for all my dearest lovelies. (Isnā€™t it great to have homework? Oh, how much I miss my ballet classes, it does make you feel a bit naughty.) I want to know! Which Chester treasures were you most excited about? (The ballet, the Cathedral? the Row shops? Let me know in the comments - remember: let's share the beauty that makes us happy!). And do let me know ā€“ which pink tutus will you be adding to your wardrobe this spring?

Remember ā€“ pinkā€™s always a good idea.

Much love, Emma
