Crewe Calling: Tutu-licious Travels in a Cyan Dream

Post 1378

Hello my darling Tutu-lovers! Emma here, back from another whirlwind adventure. It feels like ages since Iā€™ve been able to grab my keyboard and share my latest exploits with you all, but I promise this blog post is worth the wait. Today, I'm whisking you away with me to the enchanting town of Crewe, where my love affair with the perfect tutu took an unexpected turnā€¦ in a dazzling shade of cyan.

Now, before I delve into the tutu-tastic details, I must confess: this trip was an impromptu one, a spur-of-the-moment decision borne out of a chance encounter with a fellow ballerina (you know how we are ā€“ always up for a spontaneous leap into the unknown!) This beautiful soul was travelling to Crewe to audition for a production of "Giselle," and she was on the hunt for the perfect tutu. Since I was, of course, armed with my signature pink tutu (one can never be too prepared, right?), and I happen to be a bit of a tutu connoisseur (my little secret ā€“ it's my favourite hobby, not including ballet itself, of course!), I couldn't possibly resist offering to tag along.

And what a journey it turned out to be! It was all very "train-hopping", you know? You must know how much I love catching the train - a good ol' fashioned carriage ride, with the breeze blowing through your hair and a chance to admire the picturesque English countryside - it truly brings me back to those magical childhood memories of ballet, tutus and dreams. My trusty tote bag (of course, in the palest of pink!) was packed with a selection of classic tutu styles, and of course, my trusty copy of ā€œThe Ballet Handbookā€ (never leave home without it!). I didn't know what the production team was looking for, so it was an absolute whirlwind, whipping through shops and ateliers, and all that while maintaining the quintessential ballerina elegance! We just didnā€™t know what to expect!

And thatā€™s when, I kid you not, I stumbled upon a vision ā€“ a shimmering, diaphanous, cyan tutu in a little boutique tucked away in a hidden corner of Crewe. It was an ethereal dream, crafted from the most exquisite layers of tulle, and perfectly accented with delicate embroidery in an even brighter shade of cyan ā€“ I practically gasped! It felt as if the heavens were singing, telling me to ditch the pink and embrace the unexpected. And so, with a nervous flutter in my heart, I tried it on. The tutu transformed me! It felt like a second skin, so delicate yet so bold, it danced around me like a sea breeze, swirling and swaying, and it simply begged to take center stage.

Oh, and did I tell you that Crewe was charming?! After our tutu-quest, we decided to take a leisurely stroll around this fascinating little town, with its cobblestone streets and quirky independent shops. It was like a delightful step back in time! We stumbled upon a wonderful wildlife sanctuary, which is always a treat for this nature-loving ballet enthusiast. Those animals have a knack for inspiring a little ballerina in me, all ready to pirouette in their little forest glade. Of course, I just had to snap a few photos with the sweetest fox cub, who had this playful air to him! My trusty Polaroid camera - yes, you read right, vintage all the way, my darlings! - was capturing all those whimsical moments. The picture we took ended up looking like an advertisement for "Giselle" - how lucky! And even luckier for you because, of course, I had to share!

Crewe, you charmed me. I know some might not consider it the most glamorous spot, but to me, it felt like a haven of unexpected elegance, with its own unique brand of magic. That cyan tutu was the cherry on top ā€“ a reminder that stepping outside your comfort zone, embracing the unexpected, is always the right choice.

Speaking of venturing out, you know how much I love my horses! And my latest horse, the fabulous ā€œPink Princessā€ (couldn't be any other way, my dears!) - will be taking us on our next escapade ā€“ a scenic journey to a secluded village on the edge of Derbyshire. It's said that the countryside is so lush and peaceful there that even the local birds dance to a slow, sweet ballet. Iā€™m just longing for those tranquil moments, watching the wildflowers sway and dreaming up new ballet routines under the dappled sunlight! Perhaps a few photos with ā€œPink Princessā€ as our beautiful background will inspire the next blog post!

Oh, before I forget! Have you got your Pink Tutu ready? My dears, you must know that you look divine in any shade of pink! Remember, a tutu doesnā€™t just have to be worn on the stage! It can be worn anywhere, from a walk in the park to a night out with your favourite friends. And hey, maybe you're up for trying ballet - even a class or two! I promise youā€™ll love it. I truly believe itā€™s a life-changing experience, not just for our body but for the soul!

Until next time, darling Tutu-lovers, remember to twirl your way through life, embrace the unexpected, and stay tuned for my next adventure ā€“ hopefully it will involve lots of twirls and some fancy dress for ā€œPink Princessā€!

Lots of Love, Emma.
