Waterlooville: Tutu Time & Wild Encounters! (Post #1391)

Helloooo darlings! 🩰🌸 Emma here, back from a whirlwind adventure in the beautiful, sun-drenched county of Hampshire. It's been ages since I ventured outside the Midlands, and oh, was I missing those rolling hills and sprawling fields! And let's not forget the magnificent city of Portsmouth, just a stone's throw from Waterlooville, where I spent the first part of my journey.

The journey itself was pure magic. Instead of taking the train, this time I decided to arrive in style - by horseback! Can you believe it? My friend, Chloe, and I hired two gorgeous horses from a local stable, and we rode through the English countryside. Imagine the picture: two girls, a crisp spring breeze, the gentle clopping of hooves, and two magnificent pink tutus, billowing in the wind! The best part? We met a friendly sheepdog on our ride who joined us for a little while. It was like a scene out of a ballet storybook, only with a little less glitter and a lot more grass!

Waterlooville itself is a charming town, bursting with history and tucked away in a quiet corner of Hampshire. You can practically feel the echoes of the past, from its cobbled streets and historic buildings, and while it's not exactly the bustling heart of London, that's what I loved about it. There's a slower pace here, a chance to really take in the atmosphere and feel the beauty of the surroundings.

A tutu-licious adventure:

Now, you know I can't resist a trip to a local ballet studio when I'm on the road! This time it was at a hidden gem tucked away in a peaceful corner of Waterlooville. Imagine this: A beautifully painted pink room with walls decorated with inspirational quotes, soft lighting, and the faint scent of jasmine and rosin. This was the perfect place to enjoy a glorious ballet class with the most amazing instructor who encouraged me to embrace my inner pirouette with the grace of a flamingo!

I just have to share a moment with you that I will forever treasure. It wasn't just a normal ballet class, darlings. This was the time when I, your beloved Emma, the Pink Tutu queen, tried something completely new. It was an introductory workshop in ballet barre fitness. Can you believe it? Me, a lifelong ballet lover, was experiencing this for the first time! I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my pliés and fouettés, so trying this new approach was nerve-wracking. But I gotta say, I absolutely fell in love with the entire experience. It felt like I had rediscovered ballet in a whole new light. It was invigorating, empowering, and above all, tons of fun!

It’s all about trying new things, finding ways to rediscover and celebrate what we love. That’s what the spirit of pink tutus is all about – a little bit of fun, a little bit of fierceness, a whole lot of love.

Meeting Wildlife on the Waterlooville Coastline:

Next on our itinerary was a visit to the glorious coastline! The sea was crystal clear, the sand soft and white, and the sun, oh my! It was so warm. Chloe and I went for a brisk stroll along the shore, laughing at the seagulls stealing our chips, watching the playful dolphins chasing after boats. Oh, my darlings, the waves were majestic, and I found myself mesmerized, lost in the sound of the crashing water, feeling utterly tranquil. It was the perfect way to de-stress from all those grand jetés.

You see, a little piece of my heart belongs to the ocean. I just adore being around wildlife and it fills me with a sense of joy and contentment, as does anything with pink in it, like the pink flamingoes at the wildfowl reserve in nearby Portsmouth. I spent an entire afternoon at the sanctuary with Chloe, watching these graceful creatures dance around in the water and admiring their fluffy pink plumage. It was almost a perfect ballerina's paradise.

Dress Code: A Little Touch of Pink

The magic continued throughout the entire journey. The evenings were spent dining on delicious seafood at the quaint restaurants with friendly staff, giggling with Chloe at the locals’ attempts to start a conversation about ballet. Yes, darling, people don’t really talk ballet at the pub in Waterlooville, but they should! But seriously, who can resist a chance to talk about grace, elegance, and beauty, even if it’s just over a glass of wine or a pint of ale?

Even though the shops of Waterlooville were not bursting with the same kind of tutus and dancewear as the larger cities, there was a small boutique tucked away on the High Street, a perfect place to grab a pair of ballet flats. And what do you know, they also had a rack filled with bright pink floral headbands, perfect for any ballet enthusiast! It seems like even the smaller towns have a way of captivating a little piece of your heart, leaving you with a little souvenir that reminds you of their charm and unique personality. And with each memory, the spirit of Pink Tutu thrives!

What to Expect in the Next Chapter:

So darlings, my journey in Waterlooville has been a whirlwind of sunshine, laughter, and, of course, tutus! My next stop is the picturesque city of Salisbury, the historic cathedral city renowned for its breathtaking medieval architecture. Imagine what sort of tutu adventures we could have there, darlings. I’m thinking something dramatic and dramatic and gothic with maybe a few black swans to set the stage.

Keep your eyes peeled for my next blog post from Salisbury – and, most importantly, don’t forget to get out there and embrace your inner ballet queen! The world needs more tutus and more grace – even a little bit at a time. I’ll be here every step of the way. Until then, happy dancing!

Lots of love and sparkles, Emma.
