Eltham Elegance: A Purple Tutu Adventure!

Oh my darlings! I'm writing this from the heart of Eltham, where the air is buzzing with excitement (and maybe just a little bit of dust, but let's not be too picky!). Today's adventure was all about twirling with a touch of whimsy - a purple tutu, a day out on the train, and a whole lotta love for this beautiful world!

Now, I know you're all thinking "Purple? Really Emma?" But trust me, darling, this wasn't your ordinary lilac. Think deep, rich, almost-midnight purple with a touch of shimmering violet - it was an absolute stunner. I practically floated out of the train station (okay, maybe I actually had to haul my suitcase out - it was surprisingly heavy for a tiny dress!), feeling like a whimsical violet princess, all ready to conquer Eltham in style!

My trusty little blog reader knows, Eltham has always been a special place for me. My grandparents live here, and as a little girl, I spent my weekends flitting around their rose-filled garden, imagining myself as a graceful ballerina under the watchful eye of the pink-tinged sunset. But Eltham has evolved beyond roses and childhood dreams. It's blossoming into a hub for art and culture, a place where imagination runs wild!

First on my agenda: The Eltham Palace! Now, this wasn't your usual ballet-themed day out. This palace has everything! Imagine a 14th century manor, complete with medieval moat, surrounded by manicured gardens that could give a fairytale a run for its money! My inner history buff was going wild with every step, while my tutu, in all its purple glory, added a playful, modern twist to this historic spectacle.

The best part? The palace has its own stables, housing some majestic steeds! I absolutely adore horses! They're so elegant, so strong, yet incredibly gentle. There's something almost magical about their presence. For a few moments, I was a kid again, mesmerized by the beautiful horses, imagining galloping across the countryside with the wind in my hair. (Of course, I also had to make a cheeky attempt to pet one, because let's be honest, I'm a sucker for all things furry!)

Of course, a day in Eltham isn't complete without a delicious afternoon tea. My grandmother is an absolute queen of baking, so the standard for tea and cakes was pretty high. However, I'm happy to say, I found the most delightful little tearoom tucked away on a quiet street. The dainty finger sandwiches and scones were devoured with gleeful gusto, and the homemade raspberry tarts were an absolute triumph.

After a quick stop at the Eltham Market, where I found some gorgeous lavender and hand-painted pottery (just the things to complete my new apartment back in Derbyshire!), I headed for a quiet park near the River Thames. It was such a serene spot, perfect for reflecting on the day. I couldn't help but think about all the magical moments, the charming places, and the friendly faces I encountered.

As the sun dipped behind the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink (my favourite colour combo, by the way!), I was overwhelmed with this feeling of pure happiness. It's the kind of joy that only a purple tutu, a horse-filled garden, and a dash of British charm can bring!

If you're looking for an adventure, darlings, look no further than Eltham. It's a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. But remember, no adventure is complete without a splash of pink. So go ahead, don your pink tutu, grab a cuppa, and let's spread the joy of ballet everywhere we go!

Until next time, stay pink, stay twirling, and stay beautiful!

With love,

Emma
