Cheshunt Adventures in Pink! πŸ©°πŸ’•

Hello darlings! Welcome back to Pink-Tutu, your one-stop shop for all things pink, fabulous and…well, tutu-rific! It's Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood ballerina, back with post number 1441 and I'm bursting with excitement to share all the wonderful things that have been happening in my little world!

First things first, you know me – I'm a girl who loves a good journey, and this week I've been exploring a new part of England! I decided to leave my Derbyshire digs and venture out on a delightful train journey to the charming town of Cheshunt in Hertfordshire. The countryside whizzing past, the rhythmic clinking of the tracks, and the thrill of arriving somewhere new – pure bliss!

Now, if you know me, you know I'm never without a touch of sparkle, and Cheshunt was no exception. I absolutely adored the vintage shops, each one a treasure trove of vintage trinkets and one-off pieces that just scream "Emma!" I nabbed myself a gorgeous, embroidered scarf that wouldn't look out of place in a vintage ballet performance – think shades of dusky pink and lavender with delicate floral motifs. Pure loveliness!

Of course, no trip would be complete without a little ballet inspiration. Cheshunt boasts a fantastic dance school – Cheshunt School of Dance. I was absolutely mesmerized watching a class in full swing, the energy, the passion, and of course, the sheer grace and beauty of it all. You could say I felt a twinge of that familiar "ballet envy!" There's nothing quite like the feeling of being lost in a ballet world, where movement becomes poetry, and bodies tell stories through dance.

Speaking of ballet, I was fortunate enough to catch a spectacular performance at the beautiful Broxbourne Arts Centre. This theatre has such character, you feel as though you've been transported back to a bygone era. And the ballet performance was simply divine. They put on a fabulous rendition of "Coppelia" – a true classic!

And did I mention tutus? Because tutus, my darlings, are my passion! And wouldn't you know it, while exploring Cheshunt's delightful shops, I stumbled upon a little gem of a vintage shop that had a whole rack of vintage tutus. Oh, the memories that each tulle masterpiece conjured! My heart danced with excitement – I'm talking a real "Cinderella" moment, but with more sequins! Of course, I couldn't resist grabbing one for myself. A little American-style tutu with pink tulle layers and a smattering of sequins, absolutely perfect for twirling in the streets of Cheshunt. Let's just say it was a fitting end to a magical day!

Cheshunt is also home to the Lee Valley Park* and oh, the wildlife I encountered was simply breathtaking! From elegant swans gliding gracefully across the lake to majestic peacocks displaying their flamboyant plumage – it was like a nature ballet show right in front of my eyes!

While I explored the park, I spotted some stunning pink and purple flowers, a colour scheme I can't help but feel inspired by. Pink has always held a special place in my heart, It’s a colour that symbolises so much for me: joy, femininity, and a little bit of magic. Pink just feels so empowering, don’t you think?

But the adventure didn't end there! I decided to spice things up with a little horseback riding adventure. Riding through the lush Hertfordshire countryside on horseback is something I've always dreamt of, and Cheshunt made it a reality. Imagine galloping through fields, feeling the wind in your hair and the horse's power beneath you. There's truly nothing like it, and of course, it wouldn't be Pink-Tutu if there wasn't a splash of colour, so I donned my pink riding helmet, adding a touch of pink to this already fantastic experience.

My trip to Cheshunt was more than just a weekend getaway. It was a reminder of all the beautiful things that life has to offer: the thrill of travel, the passion of ballet, the inspiration of nature, and the joy of wearing pink tutus. And don’t forget my mission, my darlings – I’m on a mission to get the world to embrace the pink tutu and the magic of ballet.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your tutu (and maybe a pink riding helmet!) and join me in this fabulous journey of self-expression, adventure, and, most importantly, having fun.

Until next time, keep those pink toes twirling!

Love always, Emma
