Caerphilly Calling: Tutu Time in Wales!

Hello darlings! Emma here, your resident tutu-obsessed traveller, and today I'm bringing you sunshine and a whole lot of pink, straight from the beautiful heart of Wales! I know you've probably been waiting with bated breath (and maybe a bit of a pirouette) for this post. It's been a while since I ventured into the valleys, and let me tell you, this trip has been absolutely magical.

Tutus & Trains: A Chic Journey

This time, I ditched the four-legged travel companion (my darling chestnut mare, Tilly, needs a well-deserved rest) and hopped aboard the train to Wales. Now, there's something about a journey on a vintage train carriage that just screams "adventure" to me. All that mahogany and plush velvet is so elegant, don't you think? And it gave me a chance to properly show off my latest tutu find - a pink silk number with the most exquisite hand-stitched details. You'll be seeing a lot more of it on Instagram, naturally!

Caerphilly Castle: History in a Tutu

First stop: Caerphilly Castle! Honestly, I can't even begin to describe how much I loved this place. It's HUGE - think towering walls, battlements, a moat that could drown a small village, the whole lot. It's one of the biggest medieval castles in Britain, and you can practically feel the centuries of history within those ancient walls. It just calls out for a majestic tutued promenade!

And what do you think happens? Right in the heart of this stunning old fortress, there's a wildlife sanctuary. A proper, peaceful haven for birds and squirrels - my absolute favourite little creatures! I think even my pink tutu and my infectious "ballet-ness" might have inspired some of the critters. I saw a squirrel performing an impromptu cabriole on a branch - surely a sign that I should move in for good!

Ballet Break in the Mountains

You guys know my ballet class schedule is a thing. Well, even though I'm a million miles from Derbyshire, my love for dance follows me everywhere! Luckily, there's a fantastic little studio right in Caerphilly town, tucked away on a charming cobblestone street. The class itself was fantastic, with a lovely teacher and an inspiring view of the rolling Welsh hills - all the better to imagine myself a prima ballerina in a whimsical woodland!

Caerphilly Eats: A Culinary Treat

Food is, of course, a vital part of my travels. In Caerphilly, it was a delightful feast for the senses! Think steaming bowls of Welsh cawl (the perfect post-ballet comfort food!), crunchy laverbread on toast (you've GOT to try it, even if it sounds a little strange), and fluffy Welsh cakes with butter and jam. After indulging on these delicious delicacies, I decided it was time for a walk through the bustling town centre. I even spotted a local band playing a lively tune outside a pub - something that was very much "on-brand" with my usual, shall we say, "exuberant" demeanor.

Pink Tutu: A Universal Language

Did I mention my tutu? As I walked around town, my glorious pink confection was certainly turning heads! One little girl actually ran up to me and said, "You look like a ballerina!" My heart melted, it really did. Honestly, I believe that wearing a tutu opens up a whole new level of communication. It's a way to connect, to share, to express yourself with a whimsical flourish that simply cannot be matched.

A Call to Arms - Wear Your Tutu!

And on that note, I say this to you, dear reader: Embrace your inner ballerina! Find that inner spark, let it dance freely, and dare to wear a tutu! Be a beacon of joy, a reminder that life is for celebrating and spinning. Who knows, you might just inspire someone to discover the wonder of ballet or embrace their own unique, pink-tinted style!

Until next time, may your tutus be fluffy and your adventures pink!

XOXO

Emma
