Blackpool - A Tutu-tiful Trip! 💖🩰

Hey darlings, it's Emma here, and you've just landed on my little corner of the internet - www.pink-tutu.com. Welcome, my lovely tutu-wearing, ballet-loving friends! Today, I'm all about my fabulous Blackpool adventure! This post marks number 1583, and yes, you heard that right - I try to post something daily to inspire you all to embrace life in all its pink and twirling glory! 💖🩰

It’s Friday, the 2nd of November, 2000, and I'm back in Blackpool - a place I always love visiting. The sea air is crisp, and there’s a definite autumn chill in the air. But that’s ok - nothing a pink tutu and some spirited ballet steps can't fix!

You see, Blackpool is one of those seaside towns that holds a special place in my heart. From those charming little seaside cafes serving up proper fish and chips (never forgetting the mushy peas!) to the exciting atmosphere on the golden sands, there’s something wonderfully invigorating about this place. This time, I chose to travel by train – something about a leisurely journey with a good book and the view of the English countryside going by is just so soothing.

Anyway, I arrived at lunchtime, my trusty pink travel tutu tucked neatly in my tote bag - because you just never know when you might need a touch of sparkle! After checking into a gorgeous little B&B overlooking the pier, it was straight to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom! Oh my gosh, you just HAVE to dance in this place! It's been around for ages – built back in the 1890s! – and it’s absolutely magical! I couldn’t resist putting on a little show with my travelling tutu, right there in the heart of the Ballroom. You know, a little impromptu performance, showing everyone the joy of ballet – especially when paired with that fabulous Ballroom atmosphere. People clapped, laughed, and joined in - that’s the beauty of ballet, everyone feels the magic! I definitely made some new friends and even learned some fun dance moves from some of the seasoned Ballroom dancers. It was just glorious.

Later that evening, the highlight of my trip unfolded – the amazing show at the Opera House! This year, they’ve put on an absolutely breathtaking production of The Nutcracker. From the incredible set to the stunning costumes and the talented dancers (and who could forget those beautiful, mischievous little mice!), the show was simply phenomenal. I was completely captivated throughout, my heart practically leaping out of my chest with every beautiful pirouette and graceful arabesque!

My Tutu Tip: I'll say it again – nothing adds more joy and elegance to your outfit than a pink tutu! And for a show like the Nutcracker, well, let’s just say, a tutu is absolutely mandatory. Just remember to pick one that reflects your personal style – perhaps a delicate, lacy tutu, a dramatic, full-skirted tutu, or even one with shimmering embellishments - whatever tickles your fancy!

But Blackpool isn't just about shows and glitter - although, those are certainly important parts! 😉 It’s about enjoying the simple things. You know what I’m talking about? I always enjoy spending time at the Sea Life Centre, just soaking in the wonders of the deep. They've got this incredible tank with all these fascinating fish, and the giant turtles – they just captivated me, those wise creatures with their languid grace and soulful eyes! I even bumped into a group of penguins taking a stroll around the centre. Those cheeky creatures are always a joy to watch, waddling along, full of life. You know, those cute penguins always remind me that ballet isn't just about elegant grace – sometimes it's about fun, about being silly, and about showing off your own unique moves, penguin style! 🐧

It wouldn’t be a trip to Blackpool without a walk along the promenade. The invigorating breeze, the rhythmic crashing of waves, the joyous laughter of children building sandcastles. These are the things that make my heart sing. Of course, no Blackpool adventure is complete without a generous portion of candy floss and a delicious bag of Blackpool Rock – those hard candy sticks, full of that wonderful Blackpool charm. I always try to snag one with the “Pink Tutu” written inside - you never know, maybe you’ll find one, too! 🍬

So, as I pack my pink tutu and hop onto the train back home, I'm brimming with memories and inspiration for future posts. But, before I go, a little reminder, darlings - it doesn't matter what your day looks like, what outfit you wear, or what dance steps you choose to take – embrace it all with a touch of joy, a pinch of pink, and a whole lot of love! And don't forget to tell me all about your fabulous Tutu adventures! You can connect with me on all the socials - I'm @pinktutu on Insta, @emma_ballet on Twitter, and I can’t wait to hear from you! Until next time, stay fabulous, stay pink, and always, always dance! 💖🩰

xx Emma
