Wembley Wonders & a Pink-tastic Tutu!

Oh my darling tutu-lovers, I am positively bubbling with excitement to share this utterly delightful adventure with you all! Today, I ventured into the grand expanse of Wembley, not for a football match, but for something infinitely more enchanting - a ballet performance that quite frankly blew my little ballet heart right out of my chest!

Now, Wembley is no stranger to me, having enjoyed many a trip to watch the mighty Derby County play at the stadium (who needs the Rams anyway?! 😉). But this trip was altogether different! You see, it was for the Royal Ballet's performance of 'Swan Lake,' and darling, this tutu-loving heart simply had to be there.

It's true, getting there took some effort! This girl prefers a good old-fashioned horse ride (yes, you read right!) when the occasion calls for it, and since a trip to Wembley from my home in Derbyshire wouldn’t make for the most comfortable horseback journey, I had to embrace the modern world and journey by train. But even a train journey can be fabulous, with my super-cute pink floral dress and a bright, matching pink tutu in tow, you just can't help but turn a journey into a delightful, stylish affair, wouldn't you agree?

Speaking of tutus, this performance really made me proud to be a ballerina! I had donned my dream tutu for the occasion, a pink and silver masterpiece with feathers that shimmered and sparkled like a hundred tiny rainbows! It certainly got a few envious stares and compliments - just what any pink tutu lover dreams of!

The performance itself was breathtaking. From the dramatic first note of Tchaikovsky's magical score to the final bow, I was mesmerised. The ballerinas were so elegant and graceful, their movements telling stories through the mere flick of a wrist, the sway of a leg. And those tutus, oh those tutus! A riot of colour and movement, each one perfectly capturing the spirit of each role.

It made me want to spin and twirl just like they did. I may not be a professional (though with this much enthusiasm I'm not so far off, really!) but I’ll never shy away from a good ballet performance – especially when it involves my precious pink tutu!

The day itself, however, wasn't all about swans and ballet (although honestly, nothing could ever top a Royal Ballet performance!). It was the perfect excuse for a day of girly-girl fun. We strolled through Wembley, picking up some of the most adorable little pink ballerina shoes – tiny, sparkling delights just begging to be twirled in! - and visited the nearby park to get our animal fix, the swans and geese gliding on the lake really were beautiful!

All in all, Wembley offered the perfect combination of grandeur, ballet magic, and adorable pink-tastic purchases that a girl could only dream of! It was a day I’ll cherish for many moons to come. So if you haven’t already done so, my darling readers, get yourselves down to the Royal Ballet, put on a fabulous tutu and get lost in the enchantment of ballet – and while you’re at it, get yourselves a pair of those cute, teeny tiny ballet shoes! You won’t regret it!

Till next time, stay sparkling, my dear tutu-lovers! 💕✨
