Bath - A Pink Tutu Pilgrimage!

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad travel enthusiast, Emma, writing to you live from the gorgeous city of Bath! I can’t tell you how excited I am to be here. Bath is such a stunning city - the Roman Baths are incredible, the architecture is beautiful, and it just oozes history. And of course, I couldn’t resist wearing my newest pink tutu, this time adorned with little Bath buns, as a nod to the famous Bath treat!

This trip marks my first ever visit to this charming city. I arrived earlier today on the most delightful train journey. I just adore train travel. It gives me time to read, write, and gaze at the scenery. And it’s much more romantic than flying! It feels like I'm part of some vintage film, surrounded by gorgeous, rolling hills and sleepy towns. Of course, I made sure to take full advantage of the opportunity to twirl in my pink tutu on the platform! Just imagine: me, with the train whistle in the background, twirling and catching my reflection in the station window - it’s just pure, joyous, unadulterated pink tutu magic!

Once I reached Bath, I grabbed a cheeky, pink-hued bubble tea from a quaint cafe and immediately took to the cobbled streets, exploring everything. There are little independent shops brimming with character, delicious restaurants, and an array of cute little pubs perfect for a good old chinwag! Honestly, you can feel the warmth of Bath's heart, as welcoming as a cuppa with the Queen!

Now, the reason I'm actually here in Bath, other than the sheer joy of experiencing this beautiful city, is the grand Royal Ballet performance of Swan Lake tonight. It’s been on my ballet bucket list for years and to say I’m excited is a monumental understatement!

There’s nothing like witnessing a live ballet performance. The drama, the precision, the raw emotions pouring off the stage - it's utterly magical. I can't wait to soak it all up in this beautiful theatre! And naturally, my pink tutu is going to be ready and waiting, shimmering under the stage lights. It wouldn't be a ballet outing without my favourite piece of apparel!

My inner ballerina has been particularly active these past few weeks, ever since I discovered a beautiful new ballet studio tucked away in my Derbyshire village. I even bought myself a new leotard and ballet shoes! I don't know if you know this, but Derbyshire is actually famous for its ballet scene. And my village, well, it’s like a little haven for ballerinas. My dear grandma, a true Derbyshire stalwart, insists that we must all carry the ballet torch and grace with the dignity of a graceful Swan Queen. She even claims I was a little dancer in her dreams, but, honestly, I don’t know if you can call me graceful in the real world. It was a dream, though! Maybe a premonition even…

This new ballet class is making me realise that my life is practically a perfect pas de deux: my daily dose of pink tutu inspiration intertwined with a dash of classic ballet. Now that's a life recipe for pure, unadulterated joy! Speaking of which, I must go! There’s a horse-drawn carriage tour I can’t wait to try – imagine twirling through Bath in my tutu whilst being drawn by beautiful horses! Who would have thought life could be so lovely?

I’ll tell you all about it in my next post, darlings!

Until then, keep twirling and keep smiling!

And always remember - life is a dance, and your pink tutu is your invitation to embrace the magic of it all.

XOXO

Emma
