Weston-super-Mare: A Tutu-ful Trip by the Sea (Blog Post #1630)

Hello my gorgeous tutu-loving darlings! It's Emma here, bringing you all the latest from the land of pirouettes and pink!

Today I'm feeling like a true vintage glamour puss, because I'm in Weston-super-Mare, a seaside town on the glorious Somerset coastline. Remember how much I love a good train journey? Well, I boarded a gorgeous crimson-red steam engine this morning in my Derbyshire home, feeling like a real Victorian adventuress. I even wore a magnifique vintage hat with a veil! My carriage had this delicious old-timey smell of leather and wood polish - it was positively divine!

Speaking of divine... Have I told you about my latest tutu creation? Well, my little darlings, it's simply a culinary dream. This time I've been inspired by the delightful W of Weston-super-Mare. The tutu is made with swathes of the most luscious pink fabric I've ever seen, the same shade as the blush of the dawn! The W itself, shimmering with sequins and jewelled with whimsical pastry designs like little edible cherries and cakes, is embroidered upon the bustle. Honestly, you could just eat this tutu, it's that delicious!

Speaking of eating, you know what I can't go anywhere without finding a fantastic, quintessential afternoon tea! Weston-super-Mare had no shortage of options, darling! I settled upon the most divine, quaint little tea room with pastel pink walls, white wicker chairs, and dainty china. I indulged in scones the size of my fist (okay, not quite that big, but nearly!), clotted cream that melted on my tongue, and jam so delicious it would make a grown woman weep. Of course, no proper afternoon tea is complete without the most charming selection of finger sandwiches - I particularly enjoyed a smoked salmon with cucumber and cream cheese creation. Honestly, this entire experience was practically begging to be posted on Instagram, darling!

After my divine tea, I took a delightful stroll down the beach, enjoying the invigorating seaside air and watching the gulls dive and peck with a joyous abandon! And to top it all off, I even saw a dolphin frolicking in the ocean. You see, that's why I love seaside holidays.

Now, Weston-super-Mare is a town with a fantastic history. There was even an amazing theatre built in 1933 called the Winter Gardens Theatre - a building so majestic that it actually had its own Grand Ballroom! The only problem, darling, is that they don’t stage live ballet shows anymore. Now *that’s a real travesty, don’t you think? Can you imagine all the glorious twirls in a ballroom under the twinkle of a disco ball, all the stunning pirouettes amidst the sounds of a big band! What a *spectacle that would be. My dreams of *grand dance halls know no bounds.

Perhaps next time I visit I’ll start a little movement and convince them to stage ballet shows there, wouldn't that be the perfect thing to do to celebrate my visit? After all, the goal is to get everyone dancing in pink tutus. Everyone should give ballet a go.

So, my dears, it’s been another magical trip. But I have to jet off, more tutu-ful adventures are waiting!

I'll be back with another exciting story soon! Remember, you can join me in the world of ballet, travel and tutus every day at www.pink-tutu.com. Stay pink and keep twirling!

Until next time, my gorgeous tutu-loving dears

Lots of love and twirls,

Emma
