Neath: Tutu-ing Around with a Pancake!

Hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, checking in from the lovely town of Neath! I'm here for a few days, spreading the tutu love, and experiencing the joys of Wales.

This little corner of the world has captured my heart. It's green and rolling, with mountains reaching up towards the sky like ballerinas en pointe. Even the air feels lighter here! I've traded in my usual Derbyshires dales for the dramatic peaks of Wales and, of course, it just wouldn't be a true Emma adventure without a tutu. This time, I've donned a pancake tutu for the occasion - you’ve got to admit, a soft, fluffy tutu is pretty fitting for a visit to Wales.

As I explored Neath, I stumbled upon the most adorable vintage tea room tucked away in a charming cobblestone street. The moment I stepped inside, it felt like a scene straight out of a ballet - all elegant china, floral prints, and a delectable scent of homemade cakes. It was a perfect spot to unwind and indulge in a cuppa and a delicious slice of victoria sponge, with, naturally, my pancake tutu adding a dash of whimsy to the afternoon.

Afterward, I ventured to the historic Neath Abbey. You know I can’t resist a little history! It was fascinating to wander through the ruins, imagining the lives of those who lived here centuries ago. And while there's something quite ethereal about seeing nature reclaiming a once grand building, there’s nothing quite like feeling the elegance of the grand old arches under your tutu - the perfect backdrop for a twirl or two! I just knew this would be the perfect location for my latest Instagram story - with a sprinkle of tuturology , of course.

Before the sun set, I found myself at a little, local theatre, caught up in a magical, folk music performance that had my toes tapping. You've probably already guessed the highlight: tutus. The singers were full of life, dressed in the most amazing bright fabrics – you guessed it – inspired by tutu shapes! The performance was a true feast for the eyes, with every dance move echoing the grace of ballet. They really brought a new dimension to folk music with their performance! I had to share my tutu love by capturing the magic and spreading the tutu joy on my Instagram stories - because it’s never enough!

A Welsh weekend just wouldn't be complete without some traditional food, so naturally, I had to indulge in a delicious lamb roast at a little tavern called The Three Horseshoes. The pub was cosy and full of character. You know me – I simply had to add some tutu sparkle to this place, just for a few photos. They had a lovely big open fireplace - great for the photos - and it reminded me a little bit of the grand, old ballet schools that you sometimes find around Europe – although much warmer and friendlier, naturally.

I'm finishing my Neath adventure today. I took a morning stroll through the Market Square – so charming – just me, my pancake tutu, and the sounds of birdsong, as the sunshine glistened on the cobbles. What an ideal ending to a wonderful journey.

But the magic doesn't end here, dear readers. My tutu travels continue, and I'm already planning my next exciting destination. And remember, every day can be an opportunity to add some tutu-licious fun to your life, no matter where you are. You never know what wonders you might find when you explore the world in your own fabulous tutu!

Stay tuned, my darlings, for my next post, coming soon!

Love, Emma
