Sutton in Ashfield: Tutu-tastic Adventures in a Sea of Red! 🩰

Hey my lovelies! 💖 It's your girl Emma, back from another dazzling adventure, this time from the charming town of Sutton in Ashfield, nestled in the heart of Nottinghamshire. It was a whirlwind of a day, and believe me, I've got so much to tell you. But first, a quick shoutout to all my Derbyshire darlings!

As a Derbyshire girl myself, it always brings a smile to my face to see the beauty that unfolds throughout the county. It was lovely to return to those familiar streets, though this time, my mission was not just a nostalgic visit. No, this time I was on a mission to spread the joy of pink and, of course, tutus!

The Scarlet Siren

I've always said, there's no such thing as too much pink in this world, but Sutton had a different kind of charm on this particular day. You see, I decided to wear my vibrant, fire-engine red tutu! This beauty has been gathering dust for a while, so it felt like the perfect opportunity to bring her out for a spin.

My red tutu, nicknamed "Ruby," was definitely turning heads as I strolled down the high street. Passersby stopped to stare, some even gasped. Honestly, it's the most delightful reaction – it’s like the entire town has become my personal audience. Now, I won't lie, there were a few curious stares and some slightly raised eyebrows. You know, the kind that you see when someone in a supermarket is wearing a zebra-print shirt, but hey, I love making people think, don’t I?! Maybe they were wondering, "what on earth is she up to?" or perhaps, "did she get lost on her way to a fancy dress party?" Either way, I just gave them a little twirl and a cheeky smile, and honestly, their smiles seemed to get a bit wider! 😉

On the Tracks with a Tutu

So, how did I arrive in Sutton, you ask? The journey itself was as magical as the destination, of course! A grand adventure, always accompanied by a healthy dose of tutu magic! You see, I've always been a huge fan of train travel – a lovely cup of tea, a delicious book, and maybe a quick twirl down the aisle – just what the doctor ordered, right? I even manage to make the journey even more fun with a few ballet moves whilst waiting on the platform! No judgement please, I can do some impressive jumps with my red tutu! 😂

This time, I had a most unexpected adventure. There I was, sitting on the train with my red tutu in a pristine travel bag, when this gorgeous brown stallion with the most soulful eyes caught my attention. He was staring at me through the window with an almost playful expression. The owners, a lovely couple with twinkling eyes, were just as captivated as the magnificent steed. We all seemed to share this secret admiration.

Turns out, I'd stumbled upon a mobile equine therapy project. Apparently, they were taking the horse to various events in the area to spread positivity and comfort, especially for those in need. We chatted, I learned about their noble mission and then, I had a flash of inspiration. It was too good to miss!

Bringing Ballet to the Horse

It just felt right. With a wide smile, I invited the stallion and its kind owners to come with me to my evening performance. There, under the watchful eyes of the twinkling stage lights, I put on my red tutu and gracefully swirled beneath the dazzling chandelier of the theatre, my partner, the brown steed, gracefully walking with me through the stage as I gracefully moved around him.

The crowd was mesmerized. Children screamed with delight, grown men held their breath, and I even saw a few tears of joy in the eyes of the audience.

You know, after this journey, I realised that my adventures are so much more than just dancing. They're about inspiring others, opening their hearts and minds, and showing them that magic exists in every corner of our lives. Maybe, just maybe, that stallion learned a little something about grace, and perhaps even a little bit of ballet along the way!

Why a Pink Tutu for Everyone?

I'm a firm believer that the world needs a lot more pink and a lot more tutus. The colour pink is symbolic of joy, love, and, of course, sweetness! Just imagine a world where we embrace these emotions a little bit more – wouldn’t that be truly beautiful?

And what about tutus?

They are symbols of freedom and grace. They inspire us to move with confidence and joy, and to express ourselves through the language of dance.

It doesn’t matter if you're a seasoned ballet dancer or you haven’t stepped inside a dance studio in years – embrace the power of a tutu and embrace your inner beauty. And even better? Why not grab a friend or your partner and go for a walk together in a tutu? You will surprise yourselves – it's the most joyful way to say, "We're ready for adventure!" and maybe you might even become best friends! 💖

So, my fellow tutulicious travelers, wherever your adventures may take you, don’t forget to wear your pinkest tutus, embrace the joy of movement, and inspire others with the magic that’s inside each and every one of you. You never know – it just might be the inspiration someone else needs to embrace their own adventure!

Until tomorrow, my dears!

Always twirling, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
