Prestwich: Pink Tutu & Stiff Tutus (Post #1764)

Hey darlings! It's Emma, back from my whirlwind trip to the charming town of Prestwich! I mean, seriously, is there anything better than hopping on a train and discovering new, vibrant corners of our beautiful country? Honestly, the only thing better is discovering a brand new, sparkling pink tutu that screams my name! (Yes, I just met the tutu of my dreams! 😉)

Now, before I tell you about all the ballet adventures in store, I need to mention my journey. Let me tell you, dear readers, sometimes even a proper ballet dancer feels the need to travel in style. And let's be honest, what’s more stylish than a horse-drawn carriage?!

Picture it: me, hair flying in the wind (a bit messy, but we're all about that effortless chic, right?!), dressed in my pinkest pink, tutu-matching dress, gracefully riding through the Derbyshire countryside. It was absolutely divine! I almost expected to find a handsome prince by the wayside, ready to sweep me away into the sunset, but alas, just a friendly fox giving me the sideways eye and a beautiful field of wild horses for company. Oh well, can't win them all!

So, Prestwich! What can I say? A real gem, tucked away, bursting with energy. Honestly, my heart went pitter-patter the moment I arrived! My dear friend Beatrice, a fellow ballet enthusiast, lives there and took me on a fabulous tour of her beautiful town. The first thing I noticed? Pink! Everywhere! Even the lamp posts had a delicate pink hue to them! We're talking a full-blown pink tutu moment in real life.

Beatrice whisked me straight to her favorite tea shop - "The Tea Rose", obviously. Imagine: a room with pink walls, porcelain teacups adorned with tiny roses, and that kind of delicious smelling, floral tea. I even indulged in a scone with a dollop of homemade raspberry jam. Don't judge! A dancer has gotta fuel up for the day ahead.

Next stop: Prestwich Library. Not just any library though! A truly impressive Victorian gem that hosted the most divine ballet performance in its hall. Now, picture it: a perfect combination of grandeur, classical ballet, and of course, pink! The ballerinas wore the most sparkly, delicate pink tutus you've ever seen! Oh, they were divine. I practically drooled with envy - even Beatrice whispered, "They could almost compete with your collection!" I'd like to think my eyes gleamed brighter than the chandelier above.

But the true surprise of the day wasn't on stage, darling! As we strolled through the town after the performance, Beatrice took my hand and whispered, "I have something special to show you..."

And she led me to a little alley, hidden from the main road, behind a quaint bakery (of course it smelled divine, it was full of freshly baked treats). The alleyway led to a secret little park with a beautiful pond in the centre. It was so peaceful, so serene, and there - under the willow trees, by the lily pad filled pond, there it was! The perfect ballet studio. Now, picture it: sunlight pouring in through stained glass windows, a beautifully painted ballet bar, soft, well-worn wooden floors... the scent of sweat and dreams mingling in the air.

I literally felt my heart flutter! We spent the rest of the day twirling in that little paradise. Even Beatrice, the shy soul she is, got caught up in the magic! Let me tell you, that little hidden studio, those soft floors, it was like a dream. I spent hours working on my turns, feeling the familiar stretch of my muscles, the delicate twirl of my stiff tutu… Ah, the joys of a perfect ballet moment.

Prestwich, my darling town, you are now firmly cemented on the pink tutu map. You’ve convinced me – life is all about embracing the beauty in every little moment. From the smallest pink details to the grandest performances, there’s beauty to be found everywhere, if you’re willing to open your heart and embrace it.

And what better way to embrace life than with a stiff tutu, a pink smile and a heart filled with the magic of ballet?

So tell me, dear readers! Where are you finding your pink tutu moments this week? And are you joining me on the mission to get everyone twirling and wearing pink? 😉 Let's spread the love of ballet!

See you all tomorrow on Pink-Tutu.com, darlings!

Until then, keep twirling,

Emma xx
