Rutherglen: Tutu Time and Treats 🩰🍓

Hello my darlings!

Today, my pink heart was overflowing with happiness as I took a rather delightful train trip down to the charming town of Rutherglen, Scotland! The train journey itself was like a dream come true – the views were stunning, and I was able to do a little bit of sketching and people-watching from the comfort of my window seat. Just think, how lucky I am! My little ballerina tutu matched the soft lilac blooms peeking through the hedges, a lovely touch of floral beauty. I had planned to bring along some of Mum’s delicious home-baked raspberry cakes (my favourite!) but accidentally forgot them – doh! Luckily, I spotted a quaint little cafe as I arrived, with pink lemonade and cupcakes with sprinkles! Absolutely divine.

You know how I feel about tutus – they’re just magical, and they never fail to bring a smile to my face! My favourite way to incorporate them into my everyday adventures? Easy peasy, darling! This week I’m sporting a vibrant, bright pink tulle number with hand-painted strawberry patterns, so adorable it could make the grumpiest old bloke chuckle! I’m wearing it proudly and with the right pair of sparkly ballet pumps, they add a bit of twinkle to every step I take!

So, let's dive into my little adventure in Rutherglen, shall we? The highlight of the day was absolutely visiting the fabulous [insert name of local bakery/cafe/sweet shop], it's quite the charming place and definitely on my list of places to return. They had the most amazing raspberry-infused cakes I’ve ever tasted (close to Mum's, mind you!), I am completely smitten with the town's little cafe culture. My friend Penny is getting married in Rutherglen in September so I've pencilled in a couple of afternoon tea visits during that week - hopefully, we'll pop by and take some Instagram photos there. I’m all about sharing my love of delicious food and treats. Let’s be honest, good food is pretty much an essential ingredient in any happy, well-balanced life, especially one that includes pink tutus and a love for dancing.

On my travels around Rutherglen, I encountered the most delightful [insert type of wildlife - deer, swans, squirrels?]. These creatures seemed to have a real understanding of the meaning of “grace” - something my ballet teacher, Miss Amelia, has always encouraged us to incorporate into our movements! I find it quite poetic how nature and dance both strive for such captivating artistry, a bit like a delightful choreography in its own right!

Now, a little update on my Ballet journey - I am SO thrilled that Miss Amelia has asked me to teach the “Swan Lake” choreography at the end of June! I’ve started planning it and can't wait for the little darlings to master this enchanting classic. Teaching ballet to the next generation is just so fulfilling; it makes me incredibly happy to spread my passion and give young girls the confidence and joy that dancing can bring! Oh, my heart is simply bursting with excitement for this special performance.

Of course, I'm trying my best to keep my dance practice up (at least an hour every day, whether I'm at home, in my hotel room, or in a picturesque field) and it always leaves me feeling energized, happy, and incredibly grounded! Sometimes it’s nice to switch up the routine a little. For my next session, I'm thinking about taking the “ballet-on-the-go” idea a step further and maybe take my practice down to the river bank. How's that for a picturesque, nature-filled class! Maybe a few ducks will be interested to watch! I can't wait to share photos on Instagram - don't forget to check out www.pink-tutu.com!

In the meantime, remember, my loves: embrace the power of a pink tutu, channel your inner ballerina, and sprinkle a little bit of grace and sunshine into your world. Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Until next time!

Love,

Emma 💖🩰🍓
