Highbury Heaven: A Tutu Trip & Italian Dreams (Post #1789)

Oh my darlings, what a week! From the lush green hills of Derbyshire, I found myself swept away on the fragrant scent of lavender fields and whirlwind tour of London, with a sprinkle of Italian magic. A true pink tutu fairytale!

Firstly, a massive "Thank you" for your incredible support! My last post about those exquisite wildlife encounters in the Peak District has totally blown up - you're loving the pics of me with the little hedgehogs just as much as I am. It’s reminding me how much we all need that connection with nature and it fills my heart with a joy that only comes from a pink tutu twirling under a starry sky, don't you think?

This week, it was all about London's charm! Now, don't get me wrong, there's something magical about catching a train into the city, especially with my pink tutu and sparkly ballet bag. But it’s the horse-drawn carriage journeys that truly transform you back in time. And, this week, it was an absolutely delightful way to get around. I practically lived in a fairytale with those gentle horses and that heavenly scent of hay and leather.

Speaking of fairytales, my heart almost burst as I entered the grandeur of the Royal Opera House, nestled in the heart of Covent Garden. The grand chandelier almost put my own blush-pink tutu to shame, twinkling like a thousand diamonds. The atmosphere crackled with anticipation as the curtains rose to unveil a magical world, a whirlwind of vibrant costumes, and exquisite storytelling through the language of ballet.

The performance itself was nothing short of breathtaking! I won’t spoil it for you, but I just have to mention a particular dance that took my breath away, with those fluid movements, delicate hand gestures, and such expressive energy that you just knew it would be impossible to stay in your seat!

I can still see that final curtain call, the standing ovation and the applause echoing in the cavernous space. It always makes my own dance lessons back in Derbyshire feel all the more vibrant and real.

Of course, the joy wouldn’t be complete without a proper tutu shop experience! Covent Garden itself is a haven for dancers, with its numerous boutiques, but there was a particular boutique I’d been longing to visit - one with a distinctly Italian vibe. They had an amazing collection of tutus in every colour you could imagine, from rich burgundy to electric blue! The pink one I purchased - oh my goodness, you would have died for it! It has the softest, most luxurious material that drapes around you like a feather. My dream dress! I had to wear it around the Covent Garden, and a delightful passerby took some photos! I am dreaming of dancing around Rome in that gorgeous pink!

The London visit was just a small glimpse into a much larger vision for me - to dance around the world, to share the love of ballet in all its glory! A trip to Rome is certainly on the cards! My dreams are brimming with the warmth of Italy and a whirlwind of swirling tutus. Imagine, everyone wearing their own pink tutus, twirling under a Roman sky - what a vision!

Now, for all of you reading, I challenge you to try ballet class just once! Don’t worry if you haven’t tried it before, because everyone starts somewhere. Put on a beautiful pink tutu and discover a world of elegance and joy, one plié at a time. Remember, ballet isn’t about being a professional, it’s about embracing movement, expressing yourself, and finding the grace within your own unique self.

As always, stay beautiful and be sure to visit my website www.pink-tutu.com and follow my journey as I twirl through the world! I’d love to see your own pink tutu looks too! Share them with me!

With a twirling kiss,

Emma xoxo
