High Wycombe Whirlwind! πŸ’– Tutu Blog Post #1848

Hello my lovely Tutu-ettes! 🩰 It's Emma here, back from a fabulous trip to High Wycombe! This was my first time venturing into the Chilterns, and oh, my word, it was utterly delightful. It's a place full of charm, history, and, dare I say, a little bit of magic! πŸ’«

As always, my trusty travelling companion - my little black tutu - was by my side. We embarked on our adventure on the train from my Derbyshire home, of course, all in the name of good, old-fashioned glamour! (The train journey itself was an adventure with a family of noisy squirrels on the carriage next to me – they looked like they were having an intense game of tag! πŸ˜…). I was particularly excited because this time I was not just taking my beloved black tutu, I also had my fabulous new pink tutu (more on that later!) for an exclusive performance, which I’m pretty excited about! 🀫

High Wycombe itself is just gorgeous! We had a leisurely wander through the market, which was full of colourful stalls, fragrant flowers, and local artisans showcasing their craft. It's always a treat to stumble across handmade goods – it truly brings the heart of the place to life. The history is everywhere you look too, with charming cobblestone streets, quaint little cottages, and a bustling High Street filled with interesting shops.

Speaking of charming shops, let me tell you about a discovery that set my heart aflutter! Hidden away on a quiet street was a small, independent shop overflowing with the most stunning selection of vintage clothing. You can bet I came out clutching a fabulous beaded dress with a floral pattern, and guess what? You guessed it! A little pink trim! πŸ’ƒ (The perfect addition for a Tutu-ette like myself! 😜). I just can't resist a touch of pink – it’s the most whimsical and joyful colour. Honestly, who can resist it?!

Anyway, the main reason for my journey to High Wycombe was, you guessed it – ballet! There was a fabulous performance by the Royal Ballet School, featuring both classical pieces and contemporary dance, all executed with impeccable precision and artistry. I just felt so incredibly lucky to have witnessed such breathtaking talent. It really filled me with inspiration and got my own Tutu-ettes muscles itching! It definitely inspired me to take some time out for a session at the barre on my return home - it is just the right time of year to be practicing all my plies, arabesques, and fondues. Oh, did I mention I had a little sneak peek backstage? And guess who had a pink tutu? 🀩

On the way back to my comfy Derbyshire home, the scenery was absolutely breath-taking. The rolling hillsides, green fields, and quaint villages whizzing by were the perfect accompaniment to the gentle rhythm of the train. Honestly, travelling by train just lets you soak it all in and admire the scenery - you get the full sensory experience, which is much better than that rushed, artificial experience on a plane. I find that on a plane I never relax fully - even though there is so much more space, somehow it makes me feel claustrophobic - maybe it is the high altitude and limited air. I don’t get this same feeling when I’m in my little space on a train, travelling through beautiful English countryside, the window open, my Tutu on! There is something quite meditative about travelling by train too – so peaceful!

Before I finish up today's Tutu Blog Post, I need to tell you a little something about my new pink tutu. My love for this magnificent colour is no secret. I wear pink, pink, pink! You can't have enough of it! Every item in my wardrobe has to include a pink accessory of some sort and so it seemed natural to go with a pink tutu too. I'm so excited to get some great photos in it next to my pink hydrangeas, and also against the rose garden at Chatsworth house in the peak district, if my lovely pony, Rosie, agrees to it - She doesn’t normally like the tutus on, I’ve got to try and win her over with a sugary treat! I also have an incredible pink feathered fascinator coming to complete my look, although you already know my love for feathers is out of control – don’t worry, no pink feathers are going on Rosie – she is too refined and would definitely look down on this frivolous detail – I will need to choose one with sequins! πŸ˜‰

Oh my, It's amazing to think that my little journey has led to a blog post bursting with so many adventures! I truly feel that every journey – even if it is only a trip to High Wycombe! - holds the promise of joy and adventure. Always, always be kind to yourself. As I like to say "Treat yourself like the star that you are!” You are, of course, totally free to wear a tutu, any day you choose. (pink preferably) πŸ˜‰

Until next time my lovely Tutu-ettes. Stay tuned, and don't forget to embrace the joy of being a little bit fancy! 🩰 πŸ’–

Emma xx
