#TutuBlog Post #1896 - Rugby with a Green Tutu! 🩰 💚

Hello darlings!

It's Emma here, writing to you from a bustling, rugby-loving town called Rugby, in the heart of England! I'm on my latest ballet adventure, and guess what? I’m sporting a green tutu this time! It's a bit of a departure from my usual pink palette, but it’s a colour I've always loved for its lush, verdant energy, much like the rugby fields I'm currently surrounded by! 🌿

Rugby - where the balls are round and the skirts are too! 🏈

I have to admit, I had no idea rugby was so popular here! It feels like the whole town revolves around this sport. It’s an incredible atmosphere! My hotel room has a perfect view of the Rugby School, and I swear I can hear the cheering from all the players. I've always been fascinated by how such different forms of performance – ballet and rugby – can evoke such passion and energy in their respective audiences. Both involve such incredible skill, teamwork and discipline!

Of course, a girl can’t go anywhere without some sparkle and ballet! The main reason I’m here in Rugby is to see a delightful, modern ballet adaptation of 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz', put on by a local company called 'Ballet Under the Stars'. It’s quite a unique production, as they combine the magical stories of Dorothy and her adventures with some incredible street dancing choreography – think street-style ballerinas meeting Dorothy in Oz! It’s really cool, a touch avant-garde but very creative! The performance is in an open-air setting in a stunning old orchard, and there’s going to be a fabulous street food market before the show! I've even heard rumour that the Queen of Hearts will be making an appearance in her most dazzling of costumes! Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to get a photo with her - imagine! The Green tutu is just the right accessory for this exciting evening, a splash of fresh colour amidst the traditional red, blue, and yellow hues of the Oz sets and costumes!

*Horsepower & Tutupower! * 🐴 🩰

I got here by train this morning, but before my big adventure with Dorothy, I took a morning ride through the lovely English countryside with a group of friends who love horse riding as much as I love my tutus. Imagine me in a bright green tutu, galloping through sunlit fields, with a gorgeous chestnut mare beneath me - the very definition of “the girl with everything!” The horses, well, they certainly knew their paces, as much as I know my pirouettes, but for an afternoon! And there’s nothing quite like the fresh, crisp air and the feeling of freedom on a beautiful summer’s day.

The Importance of Being Pink… or Green!

One of the things I love about traveling is getting the chance to meet people from all different walks of life, to experience their customs, and to share my passion for ballet. Today I even got to teach a few locals a couple of ballet moves, much to their amusement. I hope my love of tutus is infectious and I do encourage you all to wear a pink tutu today, even for a little while! Why not take up some ballet, even if just for a taster class? There is something very beautiful, powerful, and positive about letting your inner tutu shine. After all, life’s too short not to dance, isn’t it?

*Until next time! Stay Tutu-ful! * 💗🩰
