Oh, hello lovelies! Emma here, your pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger, ready to whisk you off on a new adventure. This time, it's a trip to Taunton, a delightful town nestled in the heart of Somerset. You've got to trust me when I say, Somerset is pretty darn beautiful. Lush green hills, charming villages, and more cows than you can shake a stick at - I just fell head over heels for the place!

Now, this trip was extra special. I finally snagged a pair of the most exquisite Italian tutus from a vintage boutique in Bath. They're blush pink, of course, adorned with intricate embroidery that whispers stories of grand ballerinas and shimmering spotlights. They are simply perfection and begged to be worn on this little adventure.

But first, a little journey to Taunton, wouldn't you say? I decided to embrace the countryside charm and travelled by train - something I always find so romantic. A whiff of old-fashioned carriages, the gentle rhythmic clatter of the wheels, the landscape rushing by, and, of course, a steaming mug of hot chocolate, perfect for a day filled with ballet-dreaming.

Arriving in Taunton, the air smelled of sea salt and the quaint, cobblestone streets promised hidden gems waiting to be discovered. I found myself charmed by the vibrant markets, full of colourful stalls showcasing locally-grown produce and handcrafted treasures. And of course, the most beautiful pink fluffy hat! How could I resist?

After all, my quest wasn’t just to discover Taunton. It was also to uncover its hidden ballet secrets! As luck would have it, a small ballet school, "Dancing Dreams," was just around the corner. As I pushed open the door, I was greeted by a warm, inviting space filled with the intoxicating scent of beeswax and a flurry of tutus - both pink and not so pink - a visual symphony.

Now, my fellow tutu-lovers, you have to hear about my ballet class! A room full of adorable, little girls, some as young as five, were already practicing their leaps and pirouettes, their eyes shining with delight. Seeing them was pure magic - their joy, their passion, it's infectious! Their teacher, Miss Millie, a petite woman with a vibrant smile, had the most adorable tiny pink tutu! She had a knack for making every movement seem so effortless and elegant, even while teaching me the art of arabesques.

For my big finale in Taunton, I headed to the Octagon Theatre for their production of Swan Lake. My oh my, talk about an experience! The artistry of the ballet dancers was truly captivating; I swear I felt a flutter in my heart when the swans glided across the stage, their movements fluid and captivating. The exquisite costumes, the dramatic choreography, the expressive storytelling… pure magic, and, I must say, a huge dose of inspiration.

My stay in Taunton ended all too soon, leaving me feeling deeply enchanted and rejuvenated. But let's be honest, I'm never far from a pink tutu and a dance class. Even while writing this blog post, my toes are tapping and I feel the pull of the stage.

Now, you know what I want for all of you! It's simple. Pink tutus, gorgeous and glamorous, swirling and twirling - every single one of you! It's not just about the garment; it's about the joy of movement, the freedom of expression, and the inner grace that ballet brings. Who's with me?

And what would be better than an afternoon at a local theatre enjoying an exciting and inspiring ballet performance?

Now, where's my dance bag? Taunton has ignited a spark in me! It's time to explore the world, embrace the beauty, and of course, twirl to my heart's content! Until next time my darling tutus, remember, ballet is a love story written in every graceful step.

Don't forget to share your own ballet stories with me! I'm all ears!

P.S. Remember, it's time to wear your pink tutu! Every day is a ballet day!

Emma xx
