Littlehampton, My Lovely! (Post #1924)

Hello my darling tutu-lovers! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to the seaside and oh my, I've got stories to tell! Today's post is dedicated to my latest adventure - Littlehampton. And just because I felt extra sassy, I went full-on glam with a black tutu (gasp!) because sometimes, even a pink-loving ballerina needs a little change of pace.

Now, let me paint you a picture: the salty air, the vibrant colours of the beach huts, the cries of the gulls (yes, I even befriended a seagull today, his name was...well, let's just call him "Sir Squawkington", shall we?)…it all felt like a dream.

Littlehampton itself was like a scene out of a Jane Austen novel – all charming, quaint shops and cobbled streets. You can practically smell the scones and cream! Speaking of cream, my first stop, of course, was for afternoon tea. Honestly, a perfect cuppa is my idea of pure heaven – especially when accompanied by delectable finger sandwiches, little cakes, and all things delightful. I can't get enough of the charm of old English traditions, they always seem to add a sprinkle of magic to every experience.

But back to Littlehampton... did I mention how gorgeous the beach was? My tutu may have caused a bit of a stir, let me tell you! I mean, let's be honest, a ballerina in a tutu on a sunny beach isn't your typical beach scene. The kids were thrilled, of course, and a few tourists were even snapping photos. It felt amazing, you know, feeling a little different, a little bold, a little…well, just utterly "Emma".

A ballerina on a train? Absolutely!

The journey to Littlehampton was itself a little adventure. You know I adore trains! There's just something magical about gazing out the window as the countryside whizzes by, leaving you in a world of your own. As usual, my trusty pink rucksack was packed with all my essential goodies: a book (currently on "The Importance of Being Earnest", pure whimsy, wouldn't you agree?), a sketchbook for capturing the ever-changing views, and of course, my secret weapon: my pink tutu travel bag, perfect for tucking my trusty tutu into! I get the odd look or two when I board the train in full ballerina attire, but who cares? You only live once, darling, and I choose to live it in colour, style, and a whole lot of twirling!

Life Lessons from Littlehampton

So, what did Littlehampton teach me this time?

  • Always be ready for an adventure, no matter how big or small. It doesn't need to be a glamorous gala performance; sometimes, a walk along a seaside path, the gentle sound of the waves crashing, and the salty air are just what you need.

  • *Embrace your inner child. *We spend so much time growing up that we forget to have fun. Life is too short to be serious all the time. Embrace your silly side, put on a tutu, and let yourself twirl!

  • Every experience is a lesson. Even if it's just a simple picnic by the sea, it allows you to slow down, notice the details, and appreciate the little things.

To my darling tutu-lovers, let's make Littlehampton a collective memory.

Tell me, have you ever visited Littlehampton? What did you think? Share your experiences, and remember, always bring your tutu along, even if it's just to twirl under a sunny sky!
