TutuBlog #1958: Kirkby Adventures in Pink!

Hello lovelies! 👋 Emma here, back from another whirlwind adventure and ready to spill all the deets! 🩰 Today, I’m waltzing into your feeds straight from the cobbled streets of Kirkby, a charming little town nestled in the heart of… you guessed it, Derbyshire! 😉

Yes, folks, even a girly girl like me can appreciate the rugged beauty of my home county! But fret not, this isn’t another post about rolling hills and bleating sheep (although, those do hold a special place in my heart). This is all about tutus! ✨

And not just any tutus… ahem… I’m talking a European style tutu! 💖

You see, I’m always on the hunt for a new, unique look that'll turn heads and unleash my inner ballerina. And trust me, this little number did just that! Think a soft, flowing tulle skirt with a touch of romanticism, perfectly complimenting my blush-toned bodice. It was pure magic, if I do say so myself! ✨

But the real magic started when I stepped off the train in Kirkby… Now, I know what you’re thinking: "Emma, the train?!" Yes! I traded the familiar whirring of car engines for the rhythmic clickety-clack of a good ol' fashioned train journey. It's not only a wonderfully eco-friendly choice, it also allows for a little extra "me time". 💆‍♀️ I even found myself doing some ballet stretches on the carriage while the scenery whipped past my window - an impromptu barre session with a view! 🏞️

Once I reached the station, a friendly local, (who actually seemed delighted by my European-inspired tutu!) told me about the Kirkby Museum and Heritage Centre. Now, I’m a sucker for anything history-related, especially if it involves old buildings, quaint tea rooms, and a hint of fairytale charm. 🏰

Kirkby, with its beautiful timber-framed buildings, was like stepping back in time! And let me tell you, my pink tutu fit right in with the historic vibes! I even got a couple of snaps with some cute, fluffy lambs in the museum courtyard. Who said ballet and sheep don’t go together? 😜

But the day wouldn't be complete without a spot of ballet, right? Luckily, the local dance studio, "The Pointe Shoppe", held an open class that afternoon. It was an absolute blast! We learned a stunning contemporary piece, with movements flowing as gracefully as the river that runs through the town. It's crazy how a good ballet class can make you feel like you're floating on clouds! ☁️

After a whirlwind day in Kirkby, I headed back to the station with a heart full of happiness and a renewed appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. The people were so warm and welcoming, the sights were captivating, and the town just felt so alive and buzzing with creative energy.

Now, I’m off to the studio for some practice, dreaming of my next big Tutu Adventure!

Stay tuned, lovelies! 💖

PS. Did you know the colour pink actually stands for love, compassion, and kindness? Isn’t that just lovely? And, maybe... just maybe... that's what wearing a pink tutu is all about: spreading some sunshine and reminding everyone that the world is a beautiful place filled with love. 😉 💖

Until next time, stay sparkling! ✨

Love, Emma
