Ashton - Post 1960: A Pink Tutu in the Peak District!

Hello my darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind weekend in the glorious Peak District! Yes, you read that right – me, your resident tutu-obsessed traveller, swapping the stage for the scenic beauty of the Peak District!

I've been a little preoccupied these last few weeks, what with all the ballet stuff – classes, shows, you know the drill! But a friend was visiting from London, and we both decided a little countryside escape was just what we needed to shake things up a bit!

We took the train, of course, my love affair with railways continues, even for a short journey. I spotted a lovely man in a suit looking at my pink tutu, and let me tell you, those suits just wouldn’t look the same without a flash of colour! Maybe we need to introduce pink tutus for men too! Just think of the possibilities!

The Peak District truly was a dream come true – picture it: rolling green hills, fluffy clouds painting the sky, and my little pink tutu bouncing alongside, just loving the adventure. We went on a gorgeous, sunny horse ride, me in my dusty but gorgeous tutu of course, and I even got a chance to explore a nearby woodland. It was a veritable wonderland of bird song and woodland creatures! Did you know that you can see deer there? It’s so magical! And who better to be there, embracing the nature and the beauty, than your favourite pink-loving ballerina!

This adventure wouldn’t have been the same without the most wonderful little cafe I found in a village called Ashton, in the heart of the Peak District. The place is called 'The Lavender Room,' and it is, of course, decked out in lavender, pink and other delightful girly shades. (I swear it was fate that led me there!) It’s this super quaint tea room with lovely ladies wearing matching pastel colours (which really brought out the colour in my pink tutu, it looked absolutely stunning!). And they do the most amazing cakes – lemon drizzle is my favourite!

And to top it all off, they were playing the most gorgeous, lilting classical music, making me yearn to dance. It was truly enchanting!

This visit definitely fueled my desire to get more people out there twirling and enjoying themselves. Who would’ve thought that a little tutu and a tea room would have that kind of power?! I can’t get over how amazing it felt to let my imagination run wild in this peaceful, beautiful part of the world. I felt completely relaxed and refreshed, and it really made me realize how important it is to get out there and explore – not just the world around us but also the inner worlds of each individual. We can do this, ladies! Pink tutu and a positive mindset will take you far!

Back to reality this week with another batch of classes, but you know what, this trip will keep me inspired and energized! I've realised that you can take your pink tutu anywhere, and with a smile, anything is possible!

Have you been to the Peak District? Share your adventures with me in the comments below!

Sending all my love and pink tutu vibes!

Emma xoxo
